donsanderson: Hey, where'd you get that? I never post my self-portraits! ;)
It was the face in Hyper's avatar, I just enlarged it. :-)
avatar
donsanderson: That's an odd thing, people tell me I seem intimidating because of my blue eyes. I never have got that. :/
avatar
adaliabooks: It's clearly your Viking ancestry shining through ;)
Right along with the fact that 99.9% of my very blonde (OK, white now) hair is above my shoulders! ;)
avatar
FoxySage: Depends how you look at it. Are you saying you can't see the blue-faced person in the avatar? O_o

Took me a while before i was available to see the eye part.
avatar
donsanderson: I do a bit of portrait photography and the first thing that caught me was the highlight in the eye, probably from the photographers light. The blue face is there as a frame and works very well. It is an excellent shot.
The overall look depends very much on your monitor settings, I have 5 'presets' and it looks different on each of them. ;)
Good to see i'm not the only one that can see it. :)

avatar
genkicolleen: This is an interesting lesson in perspective! No, I can't see a blue-faced person, no matter how long I look!
avatar
adaliabooks: Lol. It is a little creepy.

I'm not sure... I can see the face which the eye is a part of, but I'm not sure if that's what FoxySage meant.. I was looking for a full image of a face, but can't see anything like that.
Not sure it is. The blue-faced person perspective is seen from a distance, turned slightly to the left so he looks at you with one black eye and there is a cloth mask over the lower part of the face/mouth.

avatar
ddickinson: Nope, I can't see a blue-faced person. But quick question: have you been drinking? If so, how much, and why didn't you share with the rest of us? ;-)
I've been drinking tea. If you mean alcoholic drinks, no. I don't like that kind of drink.

AgentBirdnest: Another odd thing... we use a different slash for our slanted-mouth emoticons.

I never know which slash I should use. Is there any official etiquette about which is the proper slash?
I just go with backslash because when I make that face in real life, my mouth tilts up toward my left eye.
Way too much time in Linux and on the internet. Seldom can even find the backslash key on my keyboard any more. ;)

There's no concrete rule about such things. If it looks right to you, then that's what's right. It's your expression, not anyone else's.
ok I am back and wide awake now, after falling asleep in the bus home and having to walk two stops back -.-

I'm adding this to my Winter Sale Tracker Inspiring Quotes book.

I'd be ready for a nap after that. Of course I'm always ready for a nap. ;)
G'morning trackers! If you see me posting too much today, tell me to get back to work! :)

I know how that feels like, the only difference is that in my case I dozed off in a train and had to go back 40km.

Well if you are seeing a face, it must be some strong tea. ;-)

Thank you for explaining, but I still can't see it... :/

Frigging wonderful....
At least you're back now. Bus sleep cannot be restful sleep. There's just no way.
