Also good, and also a possibility. I know I've grabbed chunks of that series at one time previously.

AgentBirdnest: Iron Storm. And I think the worst thing is that I actually played a demo of it once and didn't like it, but I still have this weird irresistible urge to buy the game.
In Cold Blood would probably be my second biggest annoyance on my wishlist.

So, uh, is it me or did I disappear for a few days and come back to see a ton of new games pop up on flash sale?

AgentBirdnest: That was a pleasant surprise! Thank you :-)

Not a problem. Also, to be completely honest and upfront, it's Iron Storm, man. It's not going to be great. -laughs- My bandwidth limit is gonna run out this month...
But at least it's out of your hair and you can now bury it in with the rest of your collection.

Good morning. =) Well, as one of the info gatherers, I can let you know if something's new to the party or coming back around like a bad rash for the umpteenth time.

For that gift, I forgive you for this -
Now excuse me for a moment while I download Iron Storm and listen to some Ace of Base.
CarrionCrow: Oh, hey Judas. Incredible timing on your part. Since you're here, I have a question for you.
During the last sale, the pleasantness of your voice was mentioned, and based on that an idea began to take form.
How would you feel about going onto Twitch and dancing while wearing pasties and attempting to twirl them while singing Aqua's 90's pop classic "Barbie Girl"?
I personally think GOG could get over a hundred thousand stream views easily. Your thoughts? =)
When you posted that 4 days ago, it set off a chain reaction of '90s Scandinavian pop songs getting stuck in my head. During the last sale, the pleasantness of your voice was mentioned, and based on that an idea began to take form.

I spotted Age of Wonders 3 on the flash deals earlier -- doubt that counts as 'new' as it was a special discounted sale at the beginning.
American Mcgee's Grim, Wings!, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon seem new to me (or at least, they weren't in the original grouping of games that I recognise).

Just doublechecked, Grimm's been up more than once also.

I was wondering futilely a while back about what the appeal for GOG is in this drip-drip Chinese torture style of 'sale'. Come the new year when everyone with something to sell will be offering their wares like there's no tomorrow, the format they'll use is the one they've always used - because its the best, and that is simply because it works:
Everything on sale is offered all at once. Doesn't matter if its menswear, hardware, false teeth or trusses, it all goes on sale on whichever floor they've assigned to it and you can go off and peruse to your heart's and wallet's/purse's content without any slow feed or time restrictions.
Nothing like this, for instance:
'Excuse me, I've just bought my dog some false teeth and now I'd like to get him some gym shorts, but the sports department appears to be closed. Why is that?'
'Sorry, sir, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait forty minutes until we open the doors.'
'But why, there are hundreds of people waiting to give you money!'
'I'm afraid its company policy. Nothing I can do.'
If, for instance, all of GOG's sale items were available unlimited for a week or two and categorized by the size of their discount, people could browse around calmly without clock watching and having to dip in and out of the site repeatedly hoping for the titles they want, and - get this - EVERYBODY WOULD BE HAPPY!
A bit radical, perhaps, but maybe worth a try. Or maybe its just too sensible...

Preach on, man. Was thinking about (bitching about) this very recently. Everything on sale is offered all at once. Just put everything out there, so you can plan everything and get what you want the most.
Maybe they think the countdown adds suspense.
To hell with suspense. And to hell with that godsdamned timer, while we're at it. Kind of amazed I haven't started taking a hammer to every clock in my house on general principle.

I don't know about the rest of you, and believe me I really appreciate talking to everyone here, but each day I boot up the gaming beast and see that brainless f**king timer, the more GOG is becoming GAG.

In my mind, it's a combination of artificial shortages but also mixed in with the thought that not everyone's going to stim on caffiene and the like for 48 hours to ensure people don't miss a game they want.
As far as the average person knows, a game will appear for between 40mins and 5hrs depending on where it starts in the same. If you want it, odds are you should get it when you first see it. A small amount of time for debate and decision, it's a "buy now of buy never" kind of deal. Of course, when it goes on for such a long while, odds are the sales decline after a period of time -- though it might be buoyed up by new people coming in mid-sale.
