DubConqueror: I am not shy on game fora but I'm shy with multiplayer, so I'll opt for the DRM-free. I have done Battlefield (1942, Vietnam) in the past, but usually I get blown away from the battlefield very often by what seem to me teenagers who have nothing more to do than play Battlefield all day, at least they're much better at it than I as a quite casual player am. So I stick to SP games were I can adjust the difficulty myself and have full control.
Yeah, I generally do not play wide open public multiplayer games as I don't like being exposed to cheaters, trolls and other riff-raff in society which is generally what you get in the unwashed random multiplayer cesspool out there. I do like playing a number of multiplayer games either over the LAN or online with specific friends 1 on 1, or pre-organized group events though with certain types of games. I've got both of the FSW games here on DVD (a friend's copy) but wanted a copy for myself too so now hopefully we can do LAN multiplayer which is a real shame the GOG version doesn't have (or doesn't advertise anyway). I'm probably 95% a single-player game player most of the time though, and most of my multi-player buddies are caught up in raising families, dedicating their life to their employer or some other perpetual time sink, or they've dedicated their life to Blizzard (WoW or D3). :) Still, I do squeeze some multi-player in from time to time.
I absolutely love Battle for Middle Earth II multiplayer and wish EA would bring it back from the dead and offer it on GOG, along with other LOTR games. Pipe dreaming... :)
