The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

j0ekerr: I've heard of Overlord described as Dungeon Keeper meets The Office.
Is there any truth to that or is it a truckload of crap?
avatar
skeletonbow: I'm not sure how The Office fits into that though. :)
Take Dungeon Keeper and add a pinch of black, corporate humour, in which the minions are just like any lazy employees that hang around the water cooler and have to be managed in much the same way, but their job description consists of getting slaughtered by any wandering hero.

From your description, it doesn't. Dungeon Keeper feels more like the office than overlord.

expopower: Guacamelee and Dust: An Elysian Tale are both excellent games, and are really worth getting if you like action/beat 'em up games. Can't really speak for Valdis Story, but it looks pretty good too.

(Of course, if you feel you've spent too much already during this sale, then don't empty your wallet any more than you need to. You need money to buy food and stuff too!)
Indeed, I did do a quick research on reviews for them bundled games. Thought my impulse buy was ok so I proceded.

I've pretty much bough every game that I really wanted and a few impulse buys here and there.

Now, the only games that I really want are not availlable here yet and I'm sure that I can't play them on my actual rig.

Those games are The Witcher 3 and Risen 3.
Haven't even finished the first 2 of either series so I don't complain.
I have much gaming to do now.

I don't think I overspend in a way that I'd hinder my existence foodwise and the such so don't worry. ;)

But you know, you can't really play games when you don't have the sanity nor the energy to hold a gamepad or to work around a keyboard. ;)

Heimklonhm: I just looked at the indie bundle.

Should I give in to another impulse buy???

Valdis Story is a Castlevania clone that really did its homework. There are different playable characters, tons of areas to explore, items to collect and craft, and plenty of secrets to uncover. If you like Castlevania: Sympony of the Night, you will really enjoy Valdis Story.

Alan is going to be awake soon....
You know what? screw this, I've got enough games to tide me over til Christmas, of 2016! I'm done, out, no more staying awake until ungodly hours checking the flash sales, no more staying stuck in front of the monitor waiting for a sale to update. My wallet has is already happier for my decision and I think I might even go outside to see that thing called the sun.

Oh who am I kidding, I'm staying right here.

I understand you so much.

I lack the discpline of a rational mind.

KittyKay: Harder? Well I don't like the sounds of that. I better work on living for more than a handful of days before I try that. Thanks for the tip.

Neverfree: If I remember right, you can enable and disable the expansion/addon thingy in the menu. So, you can still pick and it and not have to deal with any scary monsters added by it :) highly recommend getting it, lots of fun after you get the hang of it
Oh in that case I'll absolutely get it!
Am I the only one that hasn't seen any of the free giveaways when they were supposed to be up? Seems at both times they weren't showing on my hub.

You missed at least 2 big "giveaway" days - one had Magrunner free all day long, one had 4 games pop up for free amoung the Flash Sales over the course of 24 hours - sorry :( There IS hope there might be one more, on the last day of the sale? Maybe the 29th or 30th? I suggest checking back then.

Also, I'm really starting to lose my tree here. Does anyone have an idea if GoG will do another of the "big" flash sales where the games rotate in and out quickly? I haven't been able to find the two games I want to buy for the last 3 days.

It's been speculated that they'll like to one last big event before the sale is over but I don't think anything is confirmed. If the games have appeared in the regular flash sale then they should pop up again soon. Here's the link to the ridiculously amazing spreadsheet someone put together that has all the sale info. Might give you an idea of how frequently the games you're looking for have turned up.
