The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!
Do I understand correct that Omerta Gold is just Omerta Base + Japanese Initiative DLC added? ...or would I miss material from Gold if I just owned base + JI DLC? Thanks in advance for any confirmation.

I bet we will see Omerta Gold added to flash sale rotation after this freebie.

If base + JI = gold, it's unlikely GOG will fold JI DLC into the base game... because well, already done.

Rakuru: It's worth noting that Torchlight was once a freebie already (my first game besides the ones that come with the account, actually). But while some people might think that disqualifies it, I think it's fairly likely to make an encore. :)
Indeed, that's how I originally acquired Torchlight myself. I believe there have been past precedence of GOG offering a game freebie more than once on a given title though, and if not there is always a first time. :) It's too bad Torchlight II is not available here though, I had to get that from Steam last year as I hit my limit on waiting. :)

j0ekerr: Probably for the same reason there is a game breaking bug in Sam and Max.

But I want to know if that bug can be circumvented in any possible way, (like the one in Sam and Max) or if it will ALWAYS break your game and prevent you from playing any further.
Wait..What? Sam and Max has such a bug? Where-which installment that is? And how can it be circumvented?
(Sorry if I'm bothering you, but I bought the Sam&Max Bundle and got a bit worried now, that's all)

Grilledfish: Is there really a chance for Banished to be free? It was only released four months ago. It would be awesome, but somehow I doubt it.

Oathe: I just bought it for 10 it was worth every cent I wouldn't wait to long to pick this one up.
I got it on release and liked it. Only thing is when you get your population up to 300 or so, there's really nothing new to do.
Come on GOG, put Xenonauts up for a flash sale.

Awesome work so far, BTW.
I've racked up 14 games. I'm going to be playing from now till next year's sale.
Hi, sorry if I missed something, but isn't there a mistake in news? Because they've written about 3 hours (availability of free Omerta), and that it'll be available until 3:59PM GMT (so it is two hours, not three, as far as I remember)

Grilledfish: Is there really a chance for Banished to be free? It was only released four months ago. It would be awesome, but somehow I doubt it.
As mentioned shortly ago, there are 8 game images that did not appear in the flash promos to date which were speculated could be freebies coming later in the flash sale as GOG did indicate there would be freebies. Now today we've got confirmation of our first freebie and indication of 4 total today and the first game freebie is one of the games off the list of 8 which were speculated could become freebies, and a DLC for it for a discount. That leaves 6 games left unaccounted for from the website forensics of which we now know for sure 3 more freebies are forthcoming and have reasonable data to speculate that they will be from the original list of 8. This is now highly likely but leaves 4 of the remaining games from the list unknowns as to whether they will be freebies or discounted items added to the sale late, or games that wont show up at all for some reason.

Either way, there are forensics backing the predictions in the Summer Promo so far and to date the predictions have /all/ come true for the bundles and the flash sales so my money is on a continuation of this accuracy. :) (or ... well.. since they're freebies, I guess my lack of money is on continuation... ) ;oP

"Includes Omerta: City of Gangsters, the expansion “The Japanese Incentive“, and all released DLC and content updates."

So yes, it includes everything so far :)

My understanding is that it will end on the 30th.
So 29th is basically the last day of the sale. -_^

(Unless I'm mistaken...)

IAmSinistar: Good guesses. Whistleblower would be an odd freebie, being both new and DLC. And if Banished were a freebie, it would probably crash the site for the whole time it's up.
The case of Banished is a puzzling one, actually. Whether it's a discounted flash deal or (worse) a flash freebie, it's bound to cause a good amount of griping and whining from folks that got it at the regular 50% off price.
Consider that Outlast is coming up next for flash sale... if we suspect Outlast's DLC, Whistleblower, is a possible freebie it makes sense they would appear together (much like the current Omerta set-up).

Rakuru: Unknown indeed, but I don't think that GOG would screw over the people who bought the DLC to complete their free game by releasing it free hours or days later. They've been very careful not to give people a good deal and then swap it out for an even better deal later -- I doubt it's an accident that there's no overlap (that I've seen) between the bundles and the flash sales. (They're better than Steam at this!)

But, yeah, I'm right with you on Banished. Might even consider it for a good enough discount... I believe it was only half-price when it was a Steam flash sale and it's been half-price the whole sale on GOG.
I don't see that as screwing over people but a lot of gamers have entitlement mentality so they would see it that way I'm certain too. I do agree with you with your conclusion though now that I realized the game DLC is simultaneously offered on discount making the game graphic for it accounted for now. :) Banished could of course go either way - free or some discount if it does show up as predicted. I'm going to root for free but either would be nice for people so it's all a win-win. Heck, even if it doesn't show up it's not like we're not enjoying this anyway. :)

The word "inevitable" leaps to mind. :)
Already own Omerta on GOG but thanks nonetheless GOG, we love you guys! <3
