With 700+ games discounted up to 90% off, daily special Bundle Deals, a constant stream of exciting Flash Sales, and some fantastic surprise giveaways, we launch into the season of gaming joy!

The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!
Has anyone here played Shadowrun Returns? What is it like? How well does it run on Windows 7 64-bit?
Either I keep missing all the deals for stuff I want, or the same handful of games is on flash-repeats since friday... O___o?

Its pretty damned good - quite a linear story progression, but the game itself is VERY much a conversion of the PnP game (as I understand). The community built stuff also has a lot going for it and the berlin DLC really improves everything.
For the flash price - BAG IT!

Edit: you CAN finish it in about 12 hours or less - but I really enjoyed those 12 hours - enough to get the dlc asap afterwards.
Edit2: it also ran pretty damned well on win7

Is the DLC necessary or does the original game stand alone by itself? How is the combat in the game?

hmmm... not neccesary - but as its an expansion that improves upon the original its definately worth getting if yu enjoyed the base game at all.

I personally enjoyed the combat - though at times I wished I'd chosen a different team setup for various areas, and that mages perhaps had more variance in their skills. however, that was a minor bugbear for me.

Edit: a bunch of other opinions on it here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/shadowrun_returns - however they reflect the early unpatched version of the game

auroraparadox: I would buy it here since this bundle includes all the DLC for Risen 2. Steam might only put the core game on sale and make you pay for the DLC.
avatar
blotunga: Yea, that's my problem, I already have the base game from previous bundles... I also have the first game there....
With the current backlog I also think that I hold off my purchase until the games get cheaper...
I have Risen 1 on steam as well from a recent humble bundle. I think the price GOG has on the Risen bundle is fair. Unless you catch Risen 2 Gold Edition on a flash sale I don't think you will find a lower price in my opinion.

DeathArcanum: I never played Valdis Story but if you're picking which game to get/play through, I strongly recommend Dust. The story, the gameplay, the mechanics, the metroidvania-like exploration, and the general atmosphere make it easily one of my favorite releases of 2013.
Thanks, +1
Has anyone played Valdis, instead?

Can we please get some new deals? I've purchased nearly everything on flash and bundles so far and I've noticed that consistently the exact same stuff keeps coming back again, and again, and again, and again.

We got ROTT 2013 but what about the original? We got Corsairs but what about Pirates Gold? What about Alone in the Dark instead of these Generic Indie Fear Simulators? What about Silent Service, Covert Action, QFG1-5, Myst Masterpiece, Gabriel Knight, Anachronox, etc, etc, etc. I've faithfully watched the entire sale from start to finish and none of this stuff has gone on a flash or daily sale to my knowledge, not to mention the rest of my wishlist/watchlist. NEW DEALS PRETTY PLEASE??

edit: If anyone cares I just checked and I bought 69 separate entries (way more than 69 total games since many entries include several games) since the sale started. I don't know how that ranks among the community but I'd love to double it (DAN HALEN: "DOUBLE IT") by the end of the sale if we get some new deals.

Heh, I just counted and am up to 123 "shelf" boxes / games added since this started hitting 324 total. I need to retire soon and get playing more. I agree though that if they added more (feel free to reference the 70 on my wishlist for ideas) into the rotation that I might grow my list further. However, the 200+ flash sales really is a lot of games. Gotta admit though that I wish they would throw in the DLC for some of the ones they put on the flash for the same discount % (like Outlast and Shadowrun). And / or other games in the same "family" (like Syberia and Gothic) as some on the flash sale and or in bundles.

Heck, I'd like to see Eador roll back around in the flash sale since it has not been up since Wed. / Thurs.
I'm waiting for LSL Reloaded to come around again since I can actually spare four bucks.

Uhm...if everything was on sale, there won't be anything at full price left on the site. I think the sale is amazingly big as it is. It covers a large part of the GOG catalog.
Thanks to this sale, I now have $12 left in my checking account. I've got Wing Commader 1-3 and Privateer, though, so I guess it's worth it.
I'm still looking for Memoria to come back around. I was able to actually miss it 3 times in a row, somehow. All of the other stuff, i already got, it's still too pricey or i'm just not interested at all.

How does that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon game compare to the rest of the Tom Clancy games on GOG?

Sure it does, but considering I've given GOG almost 200 dollars so far (many of it charitable, because I bought games I didn't really want or need but I wanted to support GOG) I think my post is entirely legitimate, and relevant. More sales in general, of any kind, are good for GOG and good for the customers. Win/win.

Just posting this link again because I know sometimes I go looking for it and have to travel a few pages back to find it. Wanted to give it a bump in case anyone needed it.
