AHA! So there is hope for me yet, and it is not the all-sucking-black-hole-soul-stealing-POS that Carrion seems to be suggesting it is (sorry Carrion - dozed off a bit; should be able to give this a start soon).

I reviewed the game back in the day when it came out. The game was horrible.

To be honest, on its own merits it's not that bad of a game. But it was significantly worse than its predecessors and full of bugs. If the worst bugs have been ironed out in the meantime (which I assume but I have to admit I didn't follow the patching of this game) it is still worth playing if you are a completionist like me or just can't get enough of similar games.

But if your gaming time is limited I suggest you rather play a modern game that is similar, like Legend of Grimrock 1 and 2.

I also bought This War of Mine and Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, which became available during the sale but were not part of it.

I like it. It's difficult at times, but a good story.

I may try it some day just to see what all the talk is about.

P.S. I have seen more of the GOG bear today then all through the sale. :(

I had it years ago on XBox and liked it well enough, up to a certain point in the story, when it jumped the shark and got pretty goofy. There's also a stealth segment that I found annoying.

Uh ok and since we don't know when or if ever another Insomnia will happen, I'll buy Children of the Nile and wait with the other one for another sale. Thanks :-)

I haven't played Children of the Nile but having played Pharaoh for a long time, i can say that is a great game! And it looks better too! (Maybe it's just me - I like 2d...) ;-)
