DoomSooth: Zoom Platform is giving away Killing Time, the original Bloodraynes, Advent Rising, and A Boy and His Blob before those games are removed due to expiring contracts. If you already have an account, those games were automagically added to your library.

No, I don't work for Zoom. :)
Thanks for the info DoomSooth! I can confirm they were automagically added to my library (acct created during the weekend)

If you read this ZP (I wonder if I may call it in short ZP or Zoom): Thank you and nice gesture!
And I'd suggest to publish the offers out of the social networks too due aversion (Email list, RSS...)

I'd like to add that I think the way Zoom Platform is handling this is exemplary. They are de-listing the games following a publisher request, despite having current and legal contracts to sell them. They have also stated that they will continue to support and update the games for those that currently own them, despite them being de-listed from sale.

Respect to Zoom Platform!
Killing Time being removed is surprising, considering...

I was WONDERING what was going on! I just logged in and suddenly there's a bunch of Majesco games on my account!

Here's hoping they get a deal with Ziggaurat.

I hope so, too, but I don't think Ziggurat is playing nice.

The promotion just ended.

Ah, now i understand, i signed my account yesterday and was stranged that those games appeared in the account, i thought mmm, a welcome pack, what nice!

In grattitude i am thinking to buy my first games on the platform, i saw Duke Nukem 3D and Dragon Lore 2. Do you need more adventure games and shooters!

So thanks Gog for release Hitman, that´s why created the account and now i have my drm-free copy of A boy and his blob and Bloodrayne games (s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r).
Ok I got all the free games both on zoom and on fireflowergames. I'll try to use both with itch, indiegala, humble bundle and epic/steam drm free games instead of gog.
After the hitman fiasco I don't want to use gog anymore with the exception of the forum and for games that I already own here

Welcome to the crew, lad.

Quite unexpected... and perhaps even a bit ironic, since it was this game which caused quite a media scandal between Zoom and GOG back in the day.

Well, at least now we know Zoom does not posses any magic licensing wands (as some people claimed) and are as susceptible to expiring deals/license contracts as any other company out there, present game store included. Which means they are a legitimate business operating within the confines of the gaming industry - hope that settles some conspiracy theories at least.

I haven't exactly kept up to date with everything, but I believe this is the first delisting on the store, am I right?

Still can’t wrap my head around the fact that they are still selling Racedriver GRID althought it has been pulled ages ago. Not a single store is selling it “legally” except Zoom, not even Codies themselves. Now being part of EA makes it even weirder as EA is known to be allergic to any product that has “Soon to expire” licences and is always happy to pull it under the nose of its customers, even from those that bought it. I guess some licence holders have magical resistance +100. Cheers

Like I already posted earlier, nothing magical is going on. When it was announced Grid licence would expire Zoom just bought a shitload of unused keys themselves. Since they already had the licence to sell the game they're legally allowed to sell their stock until they run out of keys, same with Duke Nukem 3D. Mastertronic used a similar practice in the physical media era hence you could still buy fresh copies of Grand Prix Legends, Richard Burns Rally and a few other collectible titles long after they were out of print.

All things considered this is a very smart thing to do and I'm not sure why nobody else does it.

This is 100% incorrect and isn't what happened at all.

The issue was, they wanted to force us to increase costs. We didn't want to do that, so it was given away for free and then taken down.
