Hello, I would like to ask you for your favourite Horror themed tracks.
You can type one or more.

You can win the "Solved" mark, if I find the perfect music for my ears ;)

For example, I like this one from Observer.

This question / problem has been solved by Lerouximage
You want horror music? Go Penderecki! Kubrick and Friedkin can't be wrong.

He also wrote some music that - surprisingly enough - hasn't yet found its way into an American horror movie, like this track here:

Bonus: Goblin's score for Suspiria.

edit: Going by the Observer sample, this soundtrack might be closer to what you're looking for.

Ambient Music playlist from Arx Fatalis

Vampyr soundtrack by Olivier Deriviere (I haven't heard all of the tracks yet, as I'm only 4 hours into the game, but what I've heard was cool; my personal favorite so far was "Bridge to London", but more fitting to the theme of horror would be e.g. "Be Born Again" & "The Thirst" - with the latter one I can't decide whether I find it creepy or silly, maybe both :D)

The Haunting of Hill House soundtrack by The Newton Brothers ("Approaching the House", "That Night", "Feel Nothing")

I prefer my horror like I prefer thighs. Thick and deep.

(That's the X-Com Apoc soundtrack.)

Darkwell also did a Suspiria themed album which I quite like:

Profondo rosso's soundtrack by Goblin.
Hellsing the original serie's soundtrack.
Berserk Millennium Falcon Arc: Chapter of the Holy Demon War soundtrack
Yay, thanks you everybody for great music. All of them are great :)

I've decided to give the "Solution" mark to Leroux for the The Haunting of Hill House.

Quake soundtrack is quite unsettling.

I don't know many Horror soundtracks, I'm afraid, but BioShock is really great. Unfortunately, there is no high quality version of the complete soundtrack, since only a few tracks were ever officially released.
When I think horror movie soundtracks I think John Carpenter. Halloween, The Fog, Prince of Darkness, Assault on Precinct 13 (ok, that's not a horror movie but the theme gives a very oppressive feeling of dread as well), ... doesn't matter what you choose to hear, this man is a genius when it comes to soundtracks.

Talking about games there is only one horror themed game soundtrack that impressed me in a similar way as Carpenter and that is The Last Door. Just listen to at least the first three songs from the soundtrack to form your own opinion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9MD7WY3Q74&list=RDE9MD7WY3Q74&index=1
I love the early Resident Evil save room themes, especially the original and the one from 3.

I love the music in FEAR's opening cinematic.
