and this is supposed to be something to look forward too?
The only 2021 upcoming game for me would be WRATH: Aeon of Ruin. It's made on fork of Quake 1 engine, Darkplaces (however I would personally prefer Quakespasm-Spiked), it looks good (nice level design) and I like the eerie atmosphere and ambient soundtrack.

STALKER 2 was mentioned among other games, I'm also interested in that one but I just can't believe it will be released before year 2023.

This is an overview of all the Features and a look at Gameplay in Siege Survival: Gloria Victis a survival and management strategy game set in a medieval town and castle full of stories, branching dialog and choices trees with a very large gray area for moral choices. It's inspired by This War of Mine but made in 3D.

Set in the medieval world of Gloria Victis, Siege Survival: Gloria Victis sees your country invaded and your city under brutal siege. A small group of civilians are trapped in the only remaining stronghold and are the last source of hope for the defending troops hanging on for dear life. You might not be fighting the invaders yourself, but the fate of the city lies in your hands.

Support the last soldiers standing against overwhelming enemy forces and hold out until reinforcements arrive. Build your camp, manage resources, craft supplies during the day and scour the fallen city for resources and new civilian recruits at night.
See what new RTS and Base building games are coming to PC and consoles in 2021/2022.

These are some of the Top 15 strategy games you will be able to play this and next year, with gameplay included, where possible. Some are new IPs, and by Indie developers, others are coming back after many years as sequels to fan favorite AAA franchises, while a few offer revolutionary new gameplay mechanics.

This list offers modern combat, fantasy, science fiction, classical and realistic games.

Going Medieval is an alternate medieval history colony sim, where you can build a multi-story fortress out of clay, wood, and stone. During this guide I will show and explain to you how to start a new colony, where to find food and how to cook it, where to build a place to sleep, get more villagers, heal their wounds and how to arm and armor them to defend against the first bandit raids.

The only game on my horizon right now is

Hopefully it comes to GOG or itch.io. DOTEMU have a solid record so far, though.
This year's remake/remaster game has probably been better than the new releases (Yakuza, THPS, SMT2, even No More Heroes and Ninja Gaiden despite lacklustre ports, Diablo 2 incoming).

I'd say Deathloop is the only one I find interesting at the moment. I hope Arkane will make something decent, but my expectations are low.

I only today learned of Strangeland, made by the people who did Primordia, which instantly jumpstarted my interest, but doesn't really count as upcoming, as it was released a while back.
Since half the year has past, I think it is a good time to take a look at everything noteworthy that has come out or is coming out this month.

These are 45 games of many strategy subgenres, from RTS and turn based 4X to tactical RPG combat and simulation management. Many of these have become critically acclaimed and fan favorites with mostly and even overwhelmingly positive reviews. Some even have DEMO’s available on their launch platforms like Steam, GOG or EPIC store.

I've become a big fan Slitherine-published games of late and they have several on the way, hopefully this year:
Broken Arrow - a modern warfare RTS, I expect a cross between Close Combat and Command Modern Operations
Scramble: Battle of Britain - a turn-based aircombat game, based on a boardgame if I remember correctly
Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive - a more tactical focus, with the smallest military unit as the "main" unit
Campaign Series: Vietnam - covers a large number of conflicts in the region between 1948-1979; French in Indochina, South Vietnam Civil War, U.S. Involvement in South Vietnam, Final Years in Vietnam, Laotian Civil War, China vs Vietnam, Cambodian Civil War
Starship Troopers - Terran Command - cool concept, combat looks fun, I just hope they can match the narrative and presentation as well as the gameplay
SilkSong heh, heheh...
I don't know when upcoming games are going to be released since "Coming Soon" is often the only information available.

Released this year
Backbone
Eldest Souls
Foregone
GRIME
Jet Kave Adventure
Out of Line
Strangeland
The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos
