I tried to run a Godot 3 (I think 3.5) game on it and got a "no supported OpenGL version" error.

Ah, it's sometimes best to switch from Turnip to VirGL. Some games run or run much better with VirGL. Give that a try and see if it works. Currently using VirGL with games like Deus Ex: GOTY and others and they run smoother.

Same with VirGL. (THe game doesn't even start.)

(Phone is a Pixel 6a, which appears to have a Mali GPU, not an Adreno.)

Then again, if I really want to run this particular game, there are options:
* Could try to get the Linux version running via termux + box86/box64 (no WINE)
* Could ask the developer to compile the game for Android (more reasonable than you might think, because I know him personally)
* I actually do have access to the source files for this demo (they're available for download from the game's itch.io page), and could see what happens if I try to build it for Android.
* (Of course, those last two points are assuming this version of Godot supports Android; I don't remember if it does.)
EDIT: Never mind, apparently my phone now throws up a misleadingly worded warning for any apk not directly from Google Play.

Been adding more games to my Winlator shortcut list.

Working:
Clive Barker's Undying (Definitely playable, but needs tweaking to correct some issues with audio and framerate)
Silent Storm + Sentinels (Slowish movies, but ingame works great)
Iji (Amazing platformer, works at a stable 30FPS)

Fails to play:
Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven (Just goes to a black screen and exits out of the game)
Outlaws (From the Nglide config to the Winlator config, it will get into the game, but have horrific graphics and the movies will only play audio, this one definitely needs some TLC to get working)

Just love adding new games and testing stuff out. Trying to find and play complex 3D games or more unusual games that most wouldn't think to try with Winlator.
I have tried the GOG version of Dead Cells with winlator on my phone and it works great (yes I know that android has its own port but you would need to purchase it or get the game pass; the netflix version has some crashing issues as I have faced)
A huge breakthrough on Clive Barker's Undying. You get FLAWLESS performance when you simple copy/paste the Undying Renewal mod(https://www.moddb.com/mods/undying-renewal1) into the game's base directory. You don't need to even use the launcher. I did it and I'm getting perfect sound and basically 60Fps. I've now got a near perfect portable Undying!
After tons of trial and error. I now have Age of Empires II working flawlessly on my Android phone with Winlator! CD issues, DirectDraw issues, issues with installation directory, etc. This beast has now been tamed and I now have Age of Empires II + The Conquerors expansion in a flawless state(aside from the starting movies that play in a super low resolution).

This means it's maybe time for me to dig my old cd. How's the performance on a not-so-high-end device?

Honestly, just test it out. The app is free and I've been loving just testing out games from all generations. People have gotten stuff like GTA V and other big 3D games working on the app, just check youtube and you'll see some amazing things done on it.
Hello,
Has anyone tried getting 'Gangsters: Organised Crime' working?
When I try to start the game I just get a black screen displayed with the free moving mouse pointer, nothing else happens.

Thief 2 runs great! I've been playing that with an xbox controller.

A few things to get the most out of GOG games on Winlator:

Install one of the modded Winlator apps such as Winlator Frost and AFEI, they are loaded with not only the latest DXVK, but they also have a variety of previous DXVK versions to choose from.
Always install using the GOG Offline Backup and always install the game into the C: drive(Games like Age of Empires 2, for example, will NOT work outside of the C: drive)
Use the Compatibility Preset for both boxes(Avoid the Performance preset when first playing a game, it is known to be unstable and should only be tried if your game is up and running comfortably in Compatibility.)
Sometimes later version of DXVK don't work properly, just keep going back until the game starts working. Don't assume latest means best.
From experience, install mods/community patches/DX Renderer install/etc. into games when possible. Games that had horrible performance would change immensely due to a mod fixing all sorts of issues. One big one is dgVoodoo2. Turns out an older version of dgVoodoo2 is quite compatible with Winlator, but the newer dgVoodoo2 will crash immediately.
And lastly, some games may just simply not work for a number of reasons, Winlator and others are going to be Work in Progress for a long time. Jump in and test, it's free and you may be surprised with the performance.

Thanks for the advice! I've been tinkering with different settings, finding games that work is a roll of the dice. I find the default settings are generally the best. I might try one of those winlator mods you suggested. I'm really amazed with what I can play so far, never thought I'd see a PC emulator for Android OS.

Games I've tried:
- Working -

Sacrifice
Age Of Wonders
Vampire The Masquerade Redemption
Thief 2
Journeyman Pegasus Prime
Anachronox
Vaporum
Lands Of Lore 3

- Currently not working -
Swat 2 (error on completion of installation (unable to copy win32 system file))
Swat 4 (hangs on splash screen at startup)
Gangsters Organized Crime (no menu text, with "elishaclouds dxwrapper menu fix" doesn't execute)
Carmageddon (doesn't execute)
S.W.I.N.E. HD (doesn't execute)
Dark Reign 2 (error initialising graphics driver)
Techno Babylon (doesn't execute)
winlator 7.1
I've managed to get working games with cncddraw and virgl
Anno 1602
Stronghold crusader hd
Eador genesis

Also tried recettear but it lags so i uninstaled it since the virgl 3d option isn't good. Had to change all the the settings to windows and the xinput controls hold down in the menu so only way to solve that is with a keyboard setting to prevent constant down input in the game. Am on a mali gpu though. Does anyone have the minimum requirement needed to use winlator written anywhere?
My phone only has 3gb ram and is android 9

I had a few games with a black screen - out of all of the settings, the one to fix this seems to be to select a different video card in the dropdown menu for the container. You know, the one where everyone says "it doesn't matter what you pick" - try a modern-ish GPU such as GeForce 1060Ti and give it at least 2GB RAM to work with. Let me know if that works.

Edit: I've only tried Outcast 1.1, Elite Force and Elite Force 2 so far on Winlator, but using the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro they run far above 60fps so I will be trying a few more. Glad to hear Thief 2 runs well, I love that game
