does anyone know if wing commander 3 and 4 run on windows 10? or is it just windows 7 and older

On the right side of each game page, check "Works on:" to see what OSes are officially supported by GOG. (meaning if you have that OS and the game doesn't work, and you and GOG support working together can't get the game running, you're entitled to a refund).

If you don't mind taking a chance, you might be able to those games running on not-officially-supported OSes but there's no guarantee.

Wing Commander 3 is dosbox based, so I wouldn't expect problems to exist in 10, but not in 7.
