Sure, once the stable build is released.. I checked with the MS utilify if my PC is supported or not and it looks like I'm good to go. I needed to activate TPM through Bios though.

Sorry for the necro, but on the topic of updating, what I like to suggest is that if you're going to update anything, have a back up plan (some times quite literally a 「back up」 plan). So, regarding Win11, if it ever becomes an issue, have a way to go back to your previous OS, or at least have dual boot as an emergency plan.

That sounds like a good option too, as the guest OS (the one running inside the VM) won't be touching the host OS (the one running the VM) unless the user sets the virtual machine to do it.

I have a fairly new system built within the last 18 months, so I'm pretty confidant about hardware compatibility. But I'm still going to wait a month or two before I pull the trigger.

I plan to do a fresh install rather than an in-place upgrade, since that usually provides a smoother experience. But I won't have time to do that until things slow down at work around the holiday season. And that's fine by me since it will give the early adopters time to shake out the update for a couple months before I get to it. (Yes, I consider Win11 simply an "update" -- with a lot of marketing hype -- since the vast majority of changes are only UI related while the underlying OS is essentially the same as Win10.)

I always create a full disk image backup before doing any major OS update so that if anything blows up I can roll my system back to the exact state it was in before the update. Definitely wouldn't recommend doing a YOLO! on any significant OS update -- Windows or otherwise.

Or you can run SLAX... Or just not go to 11.
