My Windows got a major upgrade last night and two old games I've been having fun with (BG1 and M M7) have gone from a box Look (older screen ratio) to now being displayed as a full wide screen.
I assume the upgrade 10 is responsible. But I thought I would double check.
Might check your graphics card settings.

I have that integrated Intel chip (otherwise known as "El Cheapo" LOL)
For Intel, it would be under the "Scaling" section in the Display settings. The option "Maintain Aspect Ratio" ought to be what you want.

I understood. But my machine is more for typing than graphics is all that I meant. I don't touch any graphic settings unless I have a full weekend to fix my mistakes.
Reading about the update just now, Microsoft said the changes are to make Windows more game friendly. So I am going to assume that the W10 change was responsible for some reason.
For what I saw of Win 10, this is indeed very much possible. After the 1st big upgrade I ended up with a certain number of customized settings returned to default.

Can't tell you for the subsequent anniversary edition or any upgrade since, since I prefered to format that HDD in order to expurgate W10 from it once for all.
