Personally, I like GOG curation. Yes, sometimes great games slip by, that's a risk... but at least you know that it is very very hard to buy bad games here even if you choose one randomly.

Enebias: even if you choose one randomly.
Which no one should ever be doing...

CharlesGrey: How is that better for the customer? Don't know about you, but personally I have absolutely no desire to install and use a new client, each time I want to play some new AAA game. I'd rather see big publishers offering their games on all available platforms, including GOG, and leave the choice to the customer, so they can pick the platform they prefer, instead of being forced into something inferior which only benefits the publisher.

StingingVelvet: Monopolies are bad, and Steam has too much power. You won't be installing a new client for every game, that's silly hyperbole. We're talking about maybe 5-6 companies big enough to have their own client. The idea of big publishers putting games on GOG day one is a pretty dream that's never going to happen. I'm just being realistic.
I doubt it, surveys and studies prove over and over again that consumers want all their "stuff" in one place, whether that be games, music or movies, they do not like having their digital content spread out over multiple platforms, so they are prone to choosing one platform and sticking with it. If anything Bethesda will end up crawling back to Steam with their tale behind their legs. Blizzard are the exception that proves the rule in this regard, even Skyrim doesn't even come close to the massive conglomerate that is WoW.

Do you honestly think that Uplay and Origin are hugely profitable platforms? I doubt they are.

Linko90: Unreal didn't go anywhere, it's literally there on the client as a free to play game. The community is constantly building maps for it.

antrad88: Epic is making more money and getting bigger than ever and they just leave THE COMMUNITY to finish this game... you see my problem ?
Are you a member of map/mod making community?

The exceptions prove the studies and surveys have huge flaws. They can't predict what people can predict without the surveys and studies. While the preference is indeed there, they want their stuff more than they want it in one place. If one is forced to choose between having stuff in many places and having little in one place, people will choose having many things in many places. Just look at how people organize their apps on their mobile devices for the quickest of examples, or their house, or their desktop, or whatever. It's usually an "organized mess" that only they know where things are.

I mean... Origin's been the exclusive way to play EA games for quite a while now. Blizzard aren't the only ones. Bethesda is huge, so do I think they can do an Origin or Battlenet with it? Sure I do. Not sure why that would be out of the question at all. *shrug*

idbeholdME: They also have a launcher that you can download called Epic Launcher.

And yes, it seems that Epic could rename themselves "The F game studio". I hate how they abandoned pretty much anything else to milk that cow for all it's worth. I don't even understand why that game exploded so much...

Sorry for the delay, been busy for the past few days.

Oh the community and fans are still there, no argument about that. It's just Epic that abandoned ship and has been quiet for a very long time now without even a single statement or reassuring/informational word from them. It would have been okay if they at least said something (except "The devs have been put to work on the F game"), but the silence is really demotivating. And I think they will have a long lasting record for the amount of time a game has been in Pre-Alpha (4 years and counting). If they keep it up, they might even beat Duke Nukem Forever.
