I am extremely angry and almost totally convinced it's nobody's fault but GOG.

I want to buy Worms:Armageddon. This should not be as hard as GOG's incompetent staff are making it. I have been trying again and again with TWO DIFFERENT CARDS and I keep getting this "THUH BANK HALTED UR PAYMENT" despite the fact they're both store-brand GIFT CARDS

My bank literally HAD NOTHING AT ALL to do with them. I am seriously considering just pirating the fucking game and never using this fucking site ever again. GOG is in serious danger of losing my business for good unless this issue is resolved.

I want to give them my fucking money.

I have literally never had this issue before so either this is someone else fucking up or GOG just decided they hate money and being successful.
First, allow me to bat you on the head with a rolled newspaper.

Take a few deep breaths and calm yourself down from your fiery rage over something so petty.

Let's try to get a few details about this. You say "store brand gift cards", to which you mean…what exactly?

Basic, non-reloadable debit cards.

The kind that don't even need activation or registration after purchase. I've literally never had this happen before, Steam never gave me this issue either. I'm angry because I used to really like GOG before they forgot how to *take money from people*

I'm sorry, I'm just frustrated because this is such a basic thing and I honestly feel just pirating the game would be less of a hassle at this point.

I don't want to pirate this game, I want to support this website.

So why won't they let me?

I'll be nice when GOG starts letting me pay for [!] again.

Incompetent people don't get nice.
1: I'm not associated in any way with GOG staff. Were I them, I'd dropkick you to the bottom of the queue or fire you as a customer, for conducting yourself in such an incredibly poor manner. This is one of the many reasons I haven't applied to be a moderator.

2: Read the message. This isn't GOG's problem. It's between you, and the cards. GOG can't magically convince a store they don't know about to make their gift cards work with a company in Poland.

Look, I'm incredibly sorry for that. I just really like GOG and what it does and the fact such a basic business interaction, the most basic that is, of exchanging money for a good or service has become such a frustration.

I'm sorry for thinking GOG was at fault but now I'm at a loss at what to do. This feels like such a simple task that the fact I've had trouble with it at all is why it's upset me so.

Imagine putting coins in a vending machine only to be told someone had decided my coins don't count and then it won't give me a straight answer why the coins are no good.

I just want to buy a fucking game why are they making this so god damned hard.
Disclaimer: I am also not part of GOG's staff, but I think they would be very happy to let you buy tons of games. :)

Follow the advice on the screenshot: contact your bank to approve the payment (you will probably only have to do this once). GOG changed its financial address from Cyprus to Poland sometime this year, so if you haven't made a purchase in a long time it might appear as an unkown destination.

Or try another payment method such as PayPal.

Or you can contact GOG Support, they are very friendly and professional and will give you the best possible help. https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/categories/201552965
Sadly, gift cards DO NOT WORK with GOG. At all. Source:tried using debit gift card to buy GOG games once, idiotic US bank wouldnt let me.

I'm sure they'll survive.

Puerile tantrums never work, by the way.
The store bought pre-paid debit cards generally never work for transactions outside the US. I think I did get one to work for Canada, however.

Another option would be paypal cash, but that's a whole different can of worms.
Do you have a Paypal account? If so, then link the card(s) to your Paypal account and then use the Paypal option to pay for the game(s). I've done this with those rebate cards you get after buying tires, phones, wiper blades, etc. Has worked every time.

Shoot, you might even be able to use those cards on the Paypal option withOUT having a Paypal account. Easy enough to try...
