Because like with gaming clients, it's a pain in the butt to make accounts at a bunch of sites to talk about a bunch of different things....it makes more sense, generally speaking, to do as much in one place as is possible.

sidenote/query: what I don't understand is why those(generally speaking) who don't like certain topics (on any forum) don't just ignore/hide them.
As you said, the "all in one place mentality". Of course that said, I like/embrace competition and am glad some new sites are starting to pop up.

Breja: But then I don't really understand the whole "I want all my X in one place" mentality either. It's the Internet. The vast array of different places for everything is kind of the whole point.
