Hey i understand people like to bully me but please tell me what you think
In my opinion, turn based strategy games are better than real time. Now, i love RTS games overall, i enjoy AoE 2, Stronghold, Tropico, the Settlers, but i think that as a genre, turn based is superior.
In turn based, assuming there are no time limits, each player can do as good as he can. All players have the same opportunity, whether you are healthy, or have no hands and need to use your feet to game, or anything in between. Assuming of course all players start in a fair position. If i played a pro and i started with 12 times as many resources, i would probably thump him. But if i started with 2 times as many resources, then i don't stand a chance... Never mind if we had equal resources.
Meanwhile RTS games demand that you have quick reflexes, perfect knowledge of keybinds, and have an extensive knowledge about everything (cause, if it's amultiplayer game, you can't just stop and read up about a unit or a strategy). Therefore, turn based is more like chess while in RTS your limbs need to be one with the keyboard which means many people with inferior genes (myself) don't stand a chance
