paladin181: But hey, you're going to cry about being poor now and can't afford games at the market value, right?
Erekoze: No. It's just makes no sense when i can buy game for one price, and my friend, who lives next door also can. But suddenly, when i want gift him this game - it asks double or tripple that price. It's just makes no sense.
The problem would be that they don't know who you want to give the game to at the time you buy it. So, say you live somewhere games are incredibly cheap, and I live in Western Europe. Your base price is $3 and mine is $20. Say I want this game. If I buy it myself, it's $20. However, what will end up happening is that I offer you $5 to gift me the game.
You pay GoG $3.
I pay you $5.
You make $2 profit, but GoG loses $17 on the sale ($20 - $3)
It's an extreme example, but unless you region lock the gifting (i.e. you can only gift to your own region), the only option is to charge the maximum for a gift copy. To be honest, just look at it as you getting a good deal on buying things for yourself.
