I am not even sure who you are, I don't specifically recognize anything you've written (what kind of games you like, whether you are more anti-DRM or pro-DRM, did you vote for Trump or Tramp, what are you wearing right now etc.), or whether I've ever read a message you've written. (Don't feel too bad about this, I know all those details only of a handful of people here).

So it you had written some GOG game review, I might think similarly as you: "Who is that person?", even though judging by your rep points you must have written something to GOG over the 6 years you've been here.

I've done a few (I used to reserve reviews for games I really enjoyed and / or wanted to highlight for others) and I've recognized a few forum members when going through others.

But you're right, I thought I'd notice more people from "here" when checking out reviews.

Also, I wish I could sort reviews or at least hide the "garbage" reviews that are like two lines and only say things like:

"This game sucks!" or "Best game ever!"

People probably write reviews for multiple reasons not necessarily involving affinity for writing. I remember when The Shivah was released and some anti-Semites promptly descended upon its review section (a rare example of bluetexts deleting reviews). Besides, the forum is for interaction, reviewing is more of a broadcast medium.

Maybe you should be more of a social buttefly.

They might be active in the game subforums to really talk about the games they are playing. People who are not as bored as us don't klick on general discussion.

I say the same thing about "game journalism" websites. Nobodies thinking their opinions are influential. Every other article is by someone who was just recently hired because none of them can keep a steady job. They're gone before the next month. :P
