Is there any fossil in the gameplay-communtiy that knows (and loves) the starflight-series? I realy hope GOG get Protostar. This is the only game, that is like starflitght except of starcontrol 2, which there is (sorry, gog) a free version ("the ur-quan-masters") since the sourcecode of this game has developed. But the time-sensitive feateure of SC2 has prevented me from playing it again. Although there are several mods, that prevent the time-limit. I must admint, that I didn't play SC 2 'till the end....

I played - however - both SF 1 and 2 till the end. (As for 1 there is no "real" end... AND there is also a time-limit.... but if you don't solve the problem until then, or you don't use the artiifacts you find in the right way. - you can stil play the game.. Although you can't solve the game-goal anymore.

As far as I know, this is the only game, where you can play. even if the game-goal isn't solved...

Well, the Starflight section of the forum is active, you might get more attention there. I myself played the first one this year. I didn't finish it, but I plan to come back after beating Ultima III.

I strongly recommend playing till the end of Star Control II, it's one of the best games I ever played in my life.

As long as we remember that Star Flight and Star Control are different games.
