JMich: Classic Gem Promo on December 9th, Theme Park released December 9th, Shadowrun Returns released December 10th, Indie Gem Promo on December 11th, Winter Sale on December 12th, Teslagrad released on December 13th.
I remember that. It was a surprise attack.
With all the attention and enthusiasm the Lucasfilm launch garnered, you would think GOG would want to harness it rather than let it dissipate. As cool as it was to start with six games, it might have been better if they had only released one title a week to keep people coming back.

You have to admit. GOG users sure haven't stopped talking about it. Heck, we might be talking more about the *lack* of releases than we would for actual releases... {shrug}

That said, I've just about reached the point where I do think it's overdue for another release. I was particularly surprised that there wasn't one today.

Two more standard release days before the likely start of the Winter Sale. Here's to hoping for at least 1 new LA game before then...

Cadaver747: I think a couple of games ready, but 1-2 weeks needed after huge sale.

By mid of December, when we all have our money for digital Christmas gifts

yyahoo: Well, by mid December we'll be in the throes of the Winter Sale (and will stay there until the end of the year) and historically GOG doesn't release "classic" games during big sales, only day 1 indies...
GOG is among others who create current history for video games digital distribution

But we, the "regulars", are also the "vocal minority". ;-) It's possible people who learned about LucasArts being on GOG through gaming news sources (like on Reddit) have forgotten and haven't come back to check. I could be wrong but having at least one LucasArts release a week seems to me like it would be more effective than 6 titles every few months, because you'd have people coming to check them/GOG out often and a certain percentage would buy other titles from the catalog. With 6 titles people were hyped TIE Fighter and X-Wing for a while, but since then the interest outside of GOG has seemingly died down.

Having LucasArts releases during the winter sale might be equally smart too since you'd attract people but with the lowered prices they'd be more likely to buy a variety of titles. (Personally I don't care about the sale, but if it means getting more LA titles, I'm interested.)

cataclism: Why would more Lucasarts not having been released yet affect your desire to get Freedom Planet and pixel piracy?
Freedom Planet actually looks really good.

yyahoo: Not that I agree with him, but he doesn't mention Freedom Planet or Pixel Piracy at all. Look at the date of his post, it's four weeks old...
Yes this was some weeks ago when we were all excited about the next Lucas release. In that light my comment makes some more sense. I actually said in the freedom planet topic that it looks really interesting. If i had the momey I would have instabought it.

Can't really disagree with anything you said. I didn't have a problem with GOG milking the first 6 releases out for a bit, but it's gone on a bit too long.

I will say that I think GOG can get the gaming press and public worked up and active again, depending on what they decide to release next. They will definitely need to release something that isn't otherwise available on Steam. Perhaps a properly working Jedi Knight game (3D acceleration is broken on the Steam releases to my knowledge) or Full Throttle would get the fire stoked again... Curse or Escape of/from Monkey Island might be effective as well. Of course, the big coup would be a GOG Galaxy enabled X-Wing vs Tie Fighter.

As an aside, I find myself rather apathetic about the Winter Sale as well. I fear that (and I know this sounds strange) the Fall Sale was too big not to mention much too close to the Winter Sale. God forbid, I think Steam got it right this year when they put together a much more conservative Fall Sale so they wouldn't overshadow their own upcoming Winter/Holiday Sale.
By now I think it's more likely that they have more problems with the games than expected... or something. I'm not running a business, but I can't think of even just one other reason to delay the release of the next pack for so long.
One month would have been the maximum for me, but now?
I'm confused.
My bet is something with copyrights and licences went horribly wrong, somehow. One more indication about why not even some basic info was given out to us, concerning all this fuss.

Copyrights! Always copyrights!

What copyright could that be? Disney owns Lucasarts, Disney owns Star Wars, Disney owns Indiana Jones, Disney owns... everything. I think Disney may own my car and house and I just don't know it yet.

Don't know about your car, but they certainly own your soul.

You mean I sold my soul and I didn't know it?? {sigh} I wonder how much I got for it. What does a used, VG+ condition soul go for nowadays?

"Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II"? Would be nice but I'd imagine they'd just make software rendering the default option, unfortunately. (Seeing as X-Wing and Tie Fighter both default to that.)

EDIT: Unless the people behind ResidualVM can do something similar for the Sith Engine - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sith_%28game_engine%29 - but I wouldn't know the technical side.

Another thing is maybe GOG is just swamped with stuff to do, and don't want to "draw attention" to themselves right now. (This thought brought on by seeing the complaints regarding patching in a few forums)

GOG needs to get itself together when it comes to releases and patches they are falling behind like shovel knight was almost 2 months late compare to steam and humble and so on but they said they have around 50+ games from lucas and disney coming so we only got 5 so far but nothing else for almost a month :/ gets old real quick tbh
