It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

siddham: I am building my first PC and I want to run Windows 7 64 bit
but I am having problems buying a copy
Microsoft dont sell it any more
and the Amazon UK offers wont deliver to Ireland

Any suggestions?

(I want a legit copy)
You can buy Pro (140 dollars I think), there are also some sites online where people trade (/sell) keys, I don't remember them atm though.

Niggles: Can you still buy genuine Windows 7 Pro retail packs anywhere?

Or on Amazon too.

P.S. You can free upgrade to Windows 10 until July. So you can try both.

nightcraw1er.488: Yep, I know there are many places selling genuine or oem at various levels, however it seems that 90% or more are total fakes, or work only for a few months. Which is why I am gauging peoples opinions on which site/deal is most trustworthy. Oem is ok I suppose, but if its a ne instal deal, then it just pushes the problem back to getting a new pc or upgrading which I might do soon.

chadjenofsky: I used Newegg the last time I bought an OEM Windows 7 Pro and I see they're still selling them.
Okay, that's a new one to me,might check it out as they have a store here.

I don't know if they have it at their retail locations, or in your country. I ordered mine on their website.

Okay, did a quick check and found they do sell to us.Also noticed a possible store here but haven't checked it properly so I could be mistaken.

A store in Blighty still has some.

I was kinda surprised that of the two New Egg links in my [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/where_can_i_buy_a_copy_of_windows_7_64_bit/post10]OP was still a working link ;p

nightcraw1er.488: Is this indeed true? Could you buy Win10, and use the key on Win 7?
Reading about this again, I'm not sure. How I read this now is that you only have downgrade rights if your PC came preinstalled with a Pro version of Windows. If you install the OS yourself you don't have downgrade rights.
Thanks everyone, input really appreciated. Looks like I will get an OEM copy from one of the given sites. I do still have a machine with 7 installed and authenticated, so think I am alright.

Points all round :o)
