Well, I'm 41. Never cared for it, never will. Co-op is cool, if you are in the same room, but this new way of doing things is creepy and antisocial.
I've played LAN games, namely Diablo 2, Duke Nukem and custom maps, DooM, and Starcraft with UMS files, and that's about it.

Online play... i did an MMO for 2 weeks with FireFall. Yeah i can't keep my attention on it too long. Did another couple MMO's, not that i expect my characters to still exist this many years later, last i checked the game wouldn't start.

Otherwise i haven't seen enough online of any type to make it worth my while.
I was never really into online multiplayer, especially not competitive action games. I did some online PvE "MP" on friendly Neverwinter Nights servers back in the days, but even that felt a bit hollow after a while. I do like playing co-op games with good friends only, but online MP with rude strangers ... meh. I also don't care for sports-like "matches" much. I'd rather play through games that have a story with beginning and end.

Ages ago I was playing Diablo 2 and a barb swiped my necro's bone wand. Another incident where someone kept killing me and taking my gold. I quit D2 MP shortly after that.

I used to play a ton of WoW. I was part of a WoW Facebook group and had to leave because I was being harassed. I still log on occasionally to say hello to my guildies.

I was harassed and got a few death threats on Overwatch recently and I don't think I'll return to the game.

I barely played even D2 with strangers, but stopped entirely after I had played with someone for like 2 hours, then they TP-PKed me before leaving. (Hardcore... Highest level character I'd ever had in upper 60s.)
Early 2000s. The only games I really ever played online multiplayer were Quake, Quake II, and Quake 3. And not a lot of that. Just never was my thing I guess. Way too toxic these days for sure.
I never stopped, even after moving to the sticks with 700ms+ latency satellite internet. I play naval games now.
Don't know exactly, online games have been a casual thing, i don't know. Been playing Age of Empires III and Age of Mythology via hamachi around 2007-2008. Also Call of Duy 2 with xfire around the same years. After that a lot of counter-strike 1.6 and source, let's say 2009 or so. After that i stopped online games to start deep and long plays of singleplayer rpgs, around 2011 with The Witcher 1 in a toaster. Then, the mmos. From 2013 to 2017 i would say playing Age of Wushu, paying the monthly vip for like 2 years. After quiting age of wushu i went to abandonware stuff because i also had a serious economic issue and a loss of hardware to play modern games. Went on laptop toaster to play Blade&Sword, prince of qin, fate of the dragon. So i would say 2017 was the year i stopped with everything online.

Right now i have thoughts about a cooperative run in some game, but still. My laptop is in airplane mode most of the time since 2018.

Heh. Makes me wish the Windows 95 Battleship game got a remake with modern online play elements.
I never have? =P Solo-gaming is still my primary focus, but I do enjoy the occasional bouts of Overwatch and Rocket League. Basically something I can just jump into for a few rounds when the mood strikes. Haven't really tried anything newer than that though. *shrug* Used to love to play Day of Defeat, Red Faction, and UT '04 a lot, but the groups I used to play with kind of fizzled out after a while. =/
Ive played Dark Alliance and Back 4 Blood this year.

After what Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal were, I'm not entirely sure why anyone would be wanting Diablo 4.
Years ago, for a few reasons.
Even when I touched some MMORPG here and there I would try and play it as much a single player game as possible (no PvP in whatever server I was) . It was alright by me if there were other players running around the same map I was, I could just ignore them and keep focused in my quests.
But then devs decided that "Noooo, you have to go social to enjoy our game." And they introduced guilds and guild-exclusive quests, and item markets and every other crap that meant that I couldn't just ignore the random idiots anymore. So I stopped. This was around 2003.

Around 2011 I joined some Pokemon-like game where you raised and battled using some sort of monster pets. Same shit happened, I quit again, this was around 2012.

After this I only had a brief stint in a Rocket League free weekend (that game is seriously awesome!) and a few nights of Among Us including even the Gog Mafia mates in...2020(ish)? Playing with them was fun, but since we didn't have a full lobby by ourselves there always appeared some random idiot Johnny McMoron to screw up the game for everyone. And as I get less and less time I couldn't join them for those games again.

I loved Diablo 3. It gave a lot of freedom in terms of builds. I can experiment with any combination of abilities and talents. D2 eventually gave us that option, but you only get one per difficulty. You can respec after that, but it involves grinding for some very rare items.

My only gripe with D3 is that elemental damage doesn't mean anything. In D2 cold adds a slow effect and sometimes doesn't leave a corpse (handy for when fighting fallen shaman, but a pain for some necro builds), electric had a very wide damage range, poison had a tick, and I think fire did the most raw damage - but it was practically useless in nightmare. The elemental damage in D3 is just damage. No pros or cons. I can't think of any instance where you would need one type over another.

I'll probably get D4 day one. I tried Immortal and it's a garbage mobile game. I do like being able to customize my toon, but it's not enough save the game for me.
