samuraigaiden: The best representation of zombies in a game, for me, is in Zombi, the Ubisoft game that originally was a Wii U exclusive called Zombi U and then got ported to PC without the U in the title. That game isn't perfect by any stretch, but they nail the George Romero style zombies to a T. It doesn't get better than that.
Lone_Scout: It's basically a remake of
a game from 1986 I haven't played the recent one, but the classic was cool, and hard af.
The problem with Zombi U is that it clearly was meant to just be a linear game and they hamfisted rogue-lite mechanics on it midway through development because it was what was hip at the time. So some stuff just doesn't make any sense. Every time you die you get to be a new survivor, but the story doesn't reset in any way, so everyone remembers talking to you even though you were somebody else 5 minutes ago. What's cool is that the zombies are where they were when you died, and you can even find your zombified former self.
Anyway, definitely check it out if you are a Romero fan.
