It installed ok on Windows 10 pro ok but intro graphics were jerky. After install can't control main character who's tied up to the mast.

1. There is a Monkey Island forum, have you checked there yet?
2. What are you trying to control it with? Did you try using the keyboard?

I screwed up. Manual said to hit F1 for options. The options/controls revealed one heck of a keyboard controls. Too difficult f or me and I won't be playing this one.

You can play 90% of the game with the cursor keys and enter. Enter is the context sensitive action, but really is it that hard to remember P for pick up, E for examine etc?
It's not that complicated. It's made for gamepads from that era, which didn't have many buttons. It has actually less hotkeys than MI1 and 2.

You will probably memorize the most important hotkeys ("E" for "Examine", "I" for Inventory, "U" for "Use", "T" for "Talk"), but most of the time you can work just fine with the context sensitive options.

As an alternative, play it with gamepad, that's what the game is designed for.

Also be aware that you can change the movement direction option. Select the one that suits you better (character relative, camera relative).

When I first played it, I also had some problems in the first scene (turn guybrush, pick up coals, rotate him again, use coals with canon). But that's actually one of the worst scenes in the game, later it gets better.

ps: If you really can't live with the controls in this game, also don't buy Grim Fandango. They are almost identical.

pss: I prefer to run the game in ScummVM. That has better modern graphical options (won't change the screen resolution for example). Scaling + filtered graphics are a big plus for this game.

There is a fan patch that makes Grim Fandango a point-and-click game in ResidualVM, and it may also work in newer ScummVM versions.

In the remastered remake version it's in the game.
