Is a good reason to avoid installing GoG Galaxy in the future, I'm disappointed that GoG is supporting a company that doesn't respect users privacy.
Just now launched Galaxy and got this "Facebook pop up" bug. A few hours ago everything was fine.
When it first happened a few months ago, I made this meme. It was in good fun. But trying to sell me on galaxy 2.0 while launching facebook just aint going to fly........

Yeah, read some older threads on this issue. As far as I can tell, GOG stated they were working on the issue... and then no one posted since.

If this is a malfunctioning social aspect of Galaxy that interacts with Facebook, I want a way to disable it or I'm getting rid of Galaxy and I'll just go back to using the GOG url. I don't want anything to do wiih Facebook and Galaxy connecting.

Same bs here. Facebook is cancer. I'll back up my Grim Dawn stuff and go to another platform if they try to force me in with social media apps and all kinds of bs that has nothing to do with my game. I just want to play a single player game in solitude. Every time that I say I'm happy with some platform they turn around and do this crap to us. Merging games with internet was the worst thing devs could have considered imo. Although I never had any problems with Diablo II battle net, this online login stuff has gotten out of control.

I find myself playing "google a bug to fix my PC game" more than I actually play any games. Annoying as hell. Never had these problems with PS1, Nintendo, SNES, Sega or any thing before they moved it all to freaking internet. Steam sucks and all of this online login crap is pissing me I want my gaming freedom back. Get off our damn email addresses...parasite third party private information thieves.

Sometimes the old ways are better...in this case, gaming was better a decade ago. Now it's all going to hell.

Agreed! To be honest, it makes my blood boil... I don't Facebook either and I'd rather be infested with a debilitating, mouth-foaming case of ceftriaxone-resistant gonorrhea than this invasive piece of crap.

The world fell for free service social media platform scams. Now they control everything on the net. It is disturbing.
Navigating within Galaxy has become unbearable. :( Time for me to log out, chill out and go to bed.

Since it's not the first time that this happens, and I haven't seen any official clarification, Galaxy will get uninstalled as soon as I post this message. I hoped that at least here I could avoid the crap that seems to be everywhere else. I guess I was wrong!

Well, I'll give GOG time to respond and see where things stand, but yeah... not liking this connection to Facebook.
One more than I'm calling it a night, I promise.

Well, instead of making a new thread on this problem, wouldn't of been easier to contact Support and tell them to fix it? Sounds like the sensible thing to me to do,like it's not that they are in here reading threads all day and it is an important bug to permanently fix.

+1 to both of you!

With this mysterious facebook bug getting sorted out and then making a glorious comeback every other month, I wouldn't trust Galaxy as far as I can throw it.

A decade ago, gaming was already declining at warp speed. Two decades ago were the best of times, when corporate suits were just starting to take over, but they didn't quite have the creative stranglehold on their underlings that they have now, so the geeks that started this industry still (mostly) had the freedom to do interesting and experimental games and also had the budget to make them.

Pretty soon we'll have to give our email and show ID just to go grocery shopping...if any physical stores are left in business by then. All jokes aside...I'm beginning to think the Unabomber had it right all along.
