Storage for anything that size/speed isn't an issue, like pictures and music.

Backups and storage

Dual boot OS to play with

Play with SquashFS

Make it your download folder/drive...

Make it a shared drive for computers and public access so anyone can give/get from that.

Can already use the loop device for that.

dtgreene: What should I put on the eMMC drive, which is clearly worse than the SSD that I'm planning to put in this computer?
Just data basically and or stuff you want quick access to.

For instance, you might want to store photos, important documents, movies and music and maybe some of your favorite game installers. If you use a program like calibre to catalog and store all your ebooks, that would be ideal too.

I certainly wouldn't use it for long term storage in a safety sense, as an external drive would be much more sensible for that.

So important stuff you have also backed up physically elsewhere but want easy access to, and which doesn't need to be accessed at top speed.
chronjob a profile or config backup to it a couple times a week.

Intel still makes Celerons? They shouldn't have even started.

Yes a loopback will work. But doing a raw copy on the device and treating it as a CD-ROM is fun too... only this one's heavily compressed. Potentially with LZO, Zlib and XZ... Which makes it good for archives of stuff like comics, ebooks, installers, etc...
I would use it as my media player, perhaps some collection of .mp3's for my favorite songs, some really cool DOS-era games and PSN / GFN streaming platform.
