Took my second vacation in 8 years - though I'm not sure that visiting the in-laws really qualifies as "vacation" - and it coincided with a lull in my customers needing anything from me. Usually just taking a single day off can be an ordeal but somehow I got by with just one call and several emails for the 9 days. Good thing, considering they have no internet and the cell coverage is spotty at their house.

And now glad to be "home". Not actually home, though. We flew in today; she took a van service for the 3-hour trip from the airport to the house and I stayed up here to see a customer tomorrow instead of spending 5-6 hours in the car to end up just 20 miles from the airport I flew into today. Should be easy work the next couple days and I'd like to be on my way to the house by around 1pm Friday. Will be good to sleep in my own bed, and I will gladly trade the high-70s weather and crappy bed for snow and my own bed at home. But even a hotel bed will be an improvement and I've got 2 nights here to catch up on 8 nights of crappy sleep.
I discovered that mail-order snacks exist.
My weekend has started and Pillars of Eternity is available for download. To top it of, I'll be going on a vacation next week for 4 days in the Belgian city of Gent.

It was actually yesterday, but I wasn't much on here yesterday, so posting about it today - enjoying some good red wine in good company, along with some good music.
Final Four!!

And geez, Notre Dame v Kentucky. Holy moly, was that ever a great game to watch!
I figured out how to disable the hud in Fear 2 as well as greatly reduce the slow-motion enemy glow effect.
Got most of the garden done. 15 tomato plants, a dozen or so pepper plants. Some arugula and lettuce planted as a cover. Also started some moon-flower seeds in the tire out front. So far so good. Weather has been cooperating.

Oh, and I drank a bunch of beer. That always makes me happy.
Looking outside at 7.30 pm and seeing daylight.

WTF It's about 8 here. Now I know we have a bigger time difference that that! :P
Had to deal with the IRS today, because the state is being a pain about a piece of paperwork that takes 60+ days for the IRS to return. When I called the toll-free number a couple weeks back, it said "Our call volume is heavy today. Call back Wednesday or Thursday." Holy crap, hard to do that when you're traveling. Instead I went over to the local office, talked to the lady, and she showed me that the application was approved and that the paperwork should be on its way any day now. Yay - ten minutes and done.

Best part is that she had a ton of cartoons and such on her walls and cabinets. Best one showed an executioner standing over the chopping block, ax in hand and a basket of heads on the ground, wearing "IRS" on his tunic. Heh - easy to forget the IRS staff are people, too, and come with their own sense of humor.
Today... Ah... I have done it again! I got a taste of something really good, that maybe i shouldn't and i certainly wasn't able to, back in the day, when i should. I feel like a cheater, like a time traveler. My mind is going to burst; i feel like a mind reader, an exploiter, i feel like the worst! But damn, i am making a killing, hot staff! I will take everything back within my two hands, with the power of the eyes and the willpower of the mind, alone!!! I am going to catch them all and release them all!

Damn it all, the rogue figure and radiance is red hot! I love the outcomes and consequences of transforming into a figure you have never been and you never even THOUGHT of acting like, in your entire life, before...

Today I am happy because I realized the fact that life is for living, not for wishing, withering, or living to die.
