thraxman: Second guess, Bringing Out the Dead (1999)?
Yes. It's "Bringing out the dead", from Martin Scorsese, with Nicolas Cage, John Goodman, Patricia Arquette, etc.

Argh...so many screenshots unnecessarily taken.

Dammit - I'll post a few anyway... ;)

Very good chance the guy in that car is under a basement in Detroit, or encased in the cement works of a bridge or skyscraper, but his best friend has moved on to sunny Philadelphia.
An Irishman not in New York.
Swimming with Sharks?
As its been up for over a day and no ones posted the exact answer yet i'll bring my turn to a close, its Hoffa (1992). Anyone want to go next?
SERIOUSLY!? XD

I didn't guess it because I thought someone else would get it before I even had a chance to type the answer. :P

Hmmmm, I wonder if anyone outside the States saw it? I can't imagine anyone in Europe gives a shit about Jimmy Hoffa. Maybe that's the reason.

I live in the UK and I saw it, I chose it because I am currently reading "I Heard you Paint Houses" the biography of Hoffa's own hitman who supposedly was the guy who was then hired to kill him.

I think I saw Hoffa, too. But I was a kid, so...

The movie or at that diner? :P

That restaurant is in Michigan so 9 out of 10 people who live in Michigan insist, "Oh I was there that last day! I was sitting in a booth and he got up and left and no one ever saw him again!"

If everyone who told me that was telling me the truth, there would have been 700 people in there. :P

Uhm,...if after a day nobody delivers the correct answer, you are supposed to give a new hint...that may be a new screenshot, or some written clue, or a combination of both.

Patience is a virtue, my friend. ;)
