Oooooooh... it's the "VR" sequence from Sam & Max Hit the Road! (here)

I didn't remember the background castle, but I sure as hell remembered the dragon! :P

Yes, you got it! I remember I was disappointed back in the day when I first played through the game and found out you weren't able to go there.
