Samorost 2 is very short, like 1+ hours.

Gomo is quite short as well (1-2 hours), but not that good, IMO.

Chuchel is slightly longer (2-3 hours) and better.

Also, Her Story, currently on sale. It's not even that much of a game, no official ending, it ends when you think you've learnt enough to solve the case in your head (on average maybe ~3 hours?).

If you want a bit more gameplay than all of the above, Skylar + Plux: Adventure On Clover Island is a pretty short 3D platformer (~3-4 hours).

And yeah, check out the thread linked to by Ingsoc85 above.

I am a slow gamer, and I finished e.g. LIMBO within a day. Oddly enough, I didn't feel it was too short, maybe it would have just dragged on for no good reason if it had been longer.

Fairfox: i bought these a while ago. i didnt realize they (espesh. chrionology) were so short, huh
i was goin' to buy teh ost of taht. is teh ost any good?
Hmm, oddly enough it looks like Chronology is no longer available for sale. Anyway, if you already bought it the soundtrack is included as bonus goodie. I wouldn't say it's on my Top 10 Game Soundtracks list, but it makes the Top 40. (I've amassed an awful lot of game soundtracks over time here.)
Tower of Guns.

A single successful run through the story mode can take from 30 to 45 minutes. If you choose to continue beyond that (don't finish the story, but just keep going instead), then I've had a single run go on about 2.5 to 3 hours, up to about level 30 or so if memory serves.

Hm. And there's me who's never managed to finish it despite trying several times. Not quite sure why. I guess you also have to factor in how difficult or engaging a game is. A game can be short and still feel too long, frustrating or boring to finish it within a short time. Although that's pretty subjective, of course.

Super Hexagon

Game has 3 levels (plus 2 bonus levels IIRC). Goal is to make it past 60 seconds for each level. You do the maths.

Gone Home

You can speedrun it in about a minute.

if you want speedruns, most games can be done quite quick

I also would say Tower of Guns, it is built as a lunch-break game, and it is very good
Deadlight: Director's Cut is also very short. I suppose, that finish it for the first time took me about 4 hours.
"FTL" and "Into the Breach" are strange beasts in that regard. They are short runs. But how many re-runs you do depends on you (or on how many new ways to play them you wish to unlock).

And on easy mode, "Into the breach" is always beatable. While "FTL" is still more a matter of chance, and may require more runs to get a happy ending.

I know from watching speedruns that Two Worlds can be beaten in like 90 seconds. Literally.

I believe that only applies to the original release of the game, and not the patched version that you'd get if you buy the game now.

Also, Alakabeth is even shorter; the speedrun is only 32 seconds.

Still_Frankie: I don't have much time lately, so I just want to play a very short game. What are the shortest games on GOG?
Maybe "Her Story"?
https://www.gog.com/game/her_story

Didn't last that long, when I played it.

Oh, and it's the daily deal... ;)

EDIT: ah, I see, Leroux already mentioned it in post #16

The Dwarves

*rimshot*
Loom is a quite easy and straightforward game that can be finished in 3-4 hours on the first play throught.
