Interesting new games so that when there's a sale, I might actually care again.

Wishbone: More sales, less gimmicks.

^ These. Pretty much every GOG game I've bought has come from "boring" normal sales. Conversely the last two "gimmicky" sales I didn't buy a thing due to the format. The best way to boost more sales is to simply add more games and stop obsessing over arbitrary "jump through hoops" gimmicks.

Here's an interesting one:

Reverse Insomnia: In this sale, the more people who buy a given game, the bigger the discount.

Those who buy a game early get store credit equal to the difference between the amount they paid and the final price of the game, plus a small percentage.

It's been talked about before, but I think GOG should try some sales focused around people who own a ton of the catalog, ie let them decide (from a certain pool if necessary) what games go on sale for the weekend.
What if GOG don't care what we think about sale format?

What if they do? :P
Some smart man proposed idea of implementing nude trading cards in GOG, like Steam has. What if... (some) Games on GOG have (some) goodies already. And we have a totally working Galaxy client. What if... GOG did implement some sort of goodies with each and every single game? If those were trading cards, they should be completely and absolutely unrelated to money, but having ability to be traded among GOG users. Why? Just for some nice artwork on the card. Each game on GOG catalog could have one card. You buy a game, you get a card. Like an additional goodie, made by GOG, for people to enjoy.

Who doesn't love small junk? I love it as long as it's beautiful.

...

Speaking about sales ideas. Sometimes GOG provides free games as bonus. Whatever the free game, it is a free gift, so morally no complaining about them should be made. But for fun... What if it was possible for us to influence what free game other users get?

I imagine it this way... I buy some games on GOG sale. After I buy them, I get a message on front page "What a surprise! [user nickname] is wishing you happy Hanukah!" and there I can get a code for that free game gift, that [user nickname] chose for me to get.

Below, there is another field, where I get to choose (if I want to!) the free game gift (from a small list) that some other user will receive after he buys something.

The fun part here is that every free game gift would come with a greeting (pre-made by GOG) and some user's nickname, which would make that free gift game more special. And hey... Maybe I will write that man/woman a message saying "HEY! YOUR gift came to ME! Thanks, bud!"

Now tell me that would not be fun and more alive.

Oh, and every free game gift, that was not signed by the living user, would be signed either by GOG Bear or by a GOG Ninja Squirrel. And then we could count which being sent more gifts.
