What game(s) did you decide NOT to buy in the recent sale... and why?

(I'll add my own reply to this after I've sifted through my list)

All of them, because it's the same old prices I can't afford. It's also becoming grating to see yet another publisher sale with no games added to the store. I'm talking ancient releases like Dragon Age II ((2011) and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (2010).

I did get 6 DLC though.
Disco Elysium because I am not going to pay more than 10 € for a game, no matter how good it’s supposed to be, that got released in recent years without native Linux support.
All of them because GOG refuses to stop pretending that it has core values and it's customer support continues to be appalling.
I always have a spending limit, which means that I won't be buying everything that I potentially want just because it's on sale. A lot of stuff gets passed over because I reached my spending limit, and I wanted whatever I did purchase more than whatever I left behind on the wishlist. This time the cap was $20.

Since the sale is over, it would be easier for me to tell you what I did buy and not what I didn't.
Quite a few going by my Wishlist of 823.

I've got money to spend and the desire to do so if the price is right.

That said, I already appear to have too many games at GOG, because all four of the free games in the last sale I already had.

I am always trying to tweak parameters beyond just the price, but in the end it boils down to price.

Games for me come in two purchase categories.

Those I know or are pretty sure I will like. I am prepared to pay up to a fair price for these, and there doesn't have to be a sale discount, just a reasonable price.

Those that interest me to some degree. Some of these come highly recommended by other gamers, so that can motivate me to pay a bit more than I would otherwise. Generally these will have to be on sale with a great discount.

No doubt setting a price for some games, perhaps many, is tricky. There is always going to be variance between what certain folk will think a game is worth and what other folk think it is worth. And there are so many factors to base your judgments on, along with personal desires and expectations.

I am sure there are many folk, who like me, will buy an interesting seeming game if it is cheap enough. That price will likely be less than what the publisher or developer think the game is worth, but then I am not deciding based on a fan perspective or a must have perspective.

In the end I guess it is about the sweet spot, a price that is low enough to attract folk like me, which could be quite a few sales. Of course I am sure, that some game providers will stubbornly stick to a price regardless, even though in the end it is just digital data, and unlike physical discs where you need to make up for production costs and transport and shipping and storage and insurance etc, you are just looking at recuperating development costs and every extra dollar counts really.

I didn't buy any games in this sale. Didn't really plan to buy anything, tbh..
To put it this way: if I had bought something, it would have been an impulse buy.

So, my personal reasons why I didn't buy anything:

1) most of the games, I'm interested in, I already own.
2) most of those games that I don't own and am interested in, weren't discounted enough for me to "impulse buy" them.
3) my "pile of shame" is already so high, I don't really feel inclined to add to it without compelling reasons.

All of them. Because GOG still sells DRMed single player games. By now even fully DRMed games (Starsand) and not "only" DRMed DLCs.

So, as long as GOG doesn't return to upholding their DRMfree promise, I come here just for the forum. Not to buy games. Saves a lot of money. (And increases my wishlist here and my number of games owned on other platforms)
CrossCode A New Home dlc, because I saw it pop up on Steam for a bigger 50% discount the same day the gog sale ended. Not gonna pay more when I know gog can do better.
I only bought Shadow of Mordor and nothing else at all, because:

1. Most of the games on GOG that I want, I already have them.

2. GOG has way too few new releases (or at least, new to GOG) of premium quality top tier games to offer, of which Shadow of Mordor and Destroy All Humans 2 are the only ones in recent memory.

Of course, this is a constant problem that is not specifically related to this recent sale only, but it still makes GOG sales not compelling to me, generally speaking.

3. Most of the discounts are totally stagnant, and completely the same as every other GOG sale, which further disincentivizes me to buy games at those stagnant prices.

4. Some games rarely to never go on sale on GOG (I.e. Terminator: Resistance) and they also weren't on sale on the recent sale either; I have no idea why GOG doesn't fix this particular problem, which I assume would be very easy for them to do if they simply communicated with the publishers who are involved (not just for Terminator, but also for other games that also never or rarely ever go on sale on GOG) about the matter.

all of em!! cause in short gog & cdpr red s#ck
All of them. I have my own beef with GoG still..
Two. The discounts were tempting but these two were humongous RPGs and while I love humongous RPGs I have a lot of humongous RPGs on my backlog plus quite a few unfinished humongous RPGs installed so getting more humongous RPGs wouldn't be very reasonable for the time being.

I bought the rest.
I bought nothing. I was hoping for a killer new release (like something from Sega). I've owned Shadow of Mordor on the Xbox One for years and outside of the tutorial I have never felt the need to play it.
Solasta Crown of the Magister, because I'm poor as hell after the 15th of each month.... :(
