Caesar.: Currently replaying Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Venice is wonderful, but I had forgotten how difficult (if you want to avoid fist fights) the castle section is.
Just wait until you get to the after-Zeppelin section. I just gave up at that point. To me, this whole aspect of the game makes it not very well designed. There's a way to get out of some fights, but good luck figuring that out without a buttload of trial and error and save scumming.

I am currently saving after every room I survive. That's the only safe way to advance without a walkthrough. I actually remember what to do after the zeppelin from a previous playthrough, and most of is quite logical... but what isn't is insane.

I can forgive those flaws because I am having a lot of fun and the immersion is incredible. But you're right the design wasn't the best. There is 0 shame in using a walkthrough... It was one of the first LucasArts adventure games and I guess they will still learning what worked best. Luckily, after this one Ron Gilbert found the perfect formula and applied it to his next game (none other than Monkey Island).

I wonder, if I will be able to complete this game. I'm only at the third planet and things are already getting quite complicated. But besides that I love it. It's a fantastic puzzle game and it's great that there are so many different ways to complete a level.
operation flashpoint red river, i dunno why this game is unavailable in my region.
playing a lot of this fps game

How did you make it run?

I tried once after beating Atlantis and fighting system was not working for me for some reason.

I am playing witcher 3. Currently got to the islands for the first time. Level 20.

Wonderful game, but I'm a bit worried about skelige. I am not fan of Norse setting, the warrior attitude and bland snowy landscape . Reason why I found skyrim so completely boring.

I really hope the writing will allow me to overcome the issues I might have

I thought the same :) Now I'm on 6th planet and need to build some quite complicated crystals for Defense Mission.

Learning curve is not very steep here. It's great, as you've said, that there are almost indefinite number of possible solutions. This game allows you always to make ugly and ineffective solution and still complete the level. On the other hand it gives you great satisfaction when your solution is simple, effective and elegant. I've checked some solutions online and some of them are just beautiful! This always encourages me to try harder :)

I love this game. I regret I haven't catched the code from last Flash Crypto Sale to give it to someone.

It is possible to avoid most of the fights using "diplomatic"
methods, but each nazi soldier needs a different one. Hence the trial and error. However the fight system works fine (GOG version). Make sure to check if your num pad is blocked.

I have steam version... man. it has been 8 years since i got it :) but I think num pad was the issue.

Will recheck.

although running this game on brand new computer feels wrong in some way.

I'm in a serious Assassin's Creed mood, and recently bought the remaining ones I don't have yet. So now I have every single Assassin's Creed game in my collection, even the Chronicle series.

I'm playing through Syndicate right now, and really enjoying it. Next up is Unity, then Rogue. I plan on replaying the rest of the games, but in reverse order. With time I've come to really appreciate the indulgent experience the AC game-worlds can offer. They feel so luxurious when it comes to this game-world ambiance.

Got back into No Man's Sky after the recent big update. I enjoyed the game before, in a relaxing Euro Truck or FSX kind of way, but now it feels and plays even better. It's so easy to get stuck in a hording-mentality though, as you would with a regular survival game like Planet Nomads. I have to remind myself that I really should move on.

Destiny 2. Playing with my brother and one of our oldest friends. We finished the campign and are now doing the many side-missions and patrols that gradually pop up. I'm playing as a Warlock, which is an awesome class. However I don't like jumping mechanics for this class, it feels far too much like a QTE with margins that are far too harsh.

On the GOG side, still working on Avadon 3, Deadlock, Bounty Train, Sudden Strike 3, Space Colony (coolest game eva'), and far too many more.

All at once? I'm impressed. :)

I;m going to run through my crafters in swtor and then play me some Tropico 5.
I've been spending an indecent amount of time playing Overwatch lately. In fact, since Deathmatch was added a few weeks ago, I already spent about 62 hours playing just that. Out of a total of 279 hours. Yeeeeeeah...

I did finally complete my run through Quake 4 though. Not bad, but it hasn't aged terribly well from the way I rememeber it. *shrug* I don't know whether I shall ever play it again. The fight before the relatively easy end-boss was ridiculously spammerific.

I may pick up one of my many backlogged adventure games next. Still haven't decided on which one though.

Bully : Scholarship edition

If only there were more games like this where you are just a kid in school going on adventures in the small local town
I'm in one of them places again where I keep skipping around between games a lot. Probably one of those months where I won't finish a single game. Anyway, got Helldivers not so long ago as I had heard that it's supposedly one of the best twin stick shooters out there and with great coop gameplay so I assumed it would be a great choice for my girlfriend and me. Twin stick shooters have kinda turned out to be her favourite genre. But oh my...

Helldivers seems pretty amazing but dang, is it hard, especially in coop. On our first two or three attempts we were just slaughtered by a single tripod enemy thingy so we switched to a different planet and sure enough, that one was infinitely easier for beginners. We still kept dying all the time, though. After multiple attempts we finally completed all objectives on the easiest map but were ultimately squished by the evac shuttle. I had similar experiences when random people joined my single player sessions, at least low level ones. Still, will definitely keep playing it as it's immensely fun thus far, just so friggin' hard!

Besides that I've been playing Dying Light a lot lately but I think I'm taking a break from that one for now. I loved Dead Island and compared to that one Dying Light kinda feels "off" to me. Even though the story and especially its delivery is better I just kinda don't care about anything going on there and the gameplay is just so repetitive. The worst thing is that exploration doesn't really seem to get rewarded. In Dead Island you'd sometimes stumble upon quests in pretty unexpected places, here it seems that all quests only appear in hideouts and are instantly visible on the map and you won't ever really find anything truly special when just climbing around the city besides some worthless collectables. And while Dead Island's maps were a lot smaller and simpler they were kinda structured more interestingly, with more recognisable unique places. In Dying Light everything feels kinda samey. Also, after Destiny I felt pretty good about coop with random people but in Dying Light it just doesn't quite seem to work right.

Besides that I finally started playing Rayman Origins yesterday. I had tried it years ago but it kinda couldn't get me hooked. Now I forced myself through a few levels and it's fun but I'm not blown away. I appreciate that the levels are almost designed as race tracks that you can just buzz through, given the skill and patience, but I guess it's not really what I'm looking for in platform games. Seems I'm rather the puzzle platformer or action adventure kind of guy. Still, I can feel it getting gradually more fun as my skill increases and I caught myself wondering if I can improve my score rating in earlier levels so I guess there's still hope that I'll end up spending dozens of hours on that game.

Anyway, I guess I'll continue playing Horizon: Zero Dawn soon which I haven't touched in months.
