Paladin's Quest.
A few things I noticed that I didn't know before (in a game I played many times as a child):
1. The music re-uses themes in interesting ways. For instance, the Naskuot "town in trouble" theme uses a variation of part of the Naskuot "peaceful town" theme. More obvious is that the Saskuot "hostile town" theme includes the melody of the Saskuot "friendly town" theme. (Other games that do this sort of thing include Super Mario World, Final Fantasy 4, and Undertale.)
2. I obtained the Adult cl legitimately this time, and it's quite good. In addition to reflecting physical damage (as if you had cast ATBack) and fully healing the user when used as an item, it also boosts all of the wearer's magic skills (or at least all that I could test at this point).
3. Speaking of magic skills, the Fire sh boosts your fire skill, and the Evil sh boosts your sky skill. I suspect that all spellcasting items give magic skill boosts. Furthermore, they stack; equipping two Fire Shields will give you twice the bonus. Also, the bonus, which is not displayed on the status screen, ignores the cap.
Yes, even after all these years, I am learning new things about the game.
Maybe I'll consider playing the game's Japan only sequel, Lennus 2, soon. (Paladin's Quest (which is a terrible name for a game with no paladins; the main character is a mage) was called Lennus (after the name of the world the game takes place in) in Japan.)
