Ixamyakxim: Excellent thanks for this! It's one I hadn't been totally willing to "give up on" (hence asking here when I learned there was an aspect of gameplay I didn't know about before) but it sounds like it just won't be for me. Thanks!

Now to get my eyes used to pixels and hope GoG ends up with a finished Star Command (I think it's called? Sort of looks like FTL mixed with the Sims combined with No Man's Sky).
Star Command Galaxies and it doesn't seem to have good reviews on Steam, apparently the devs are a bit slow updating the game.

You could also should check Interstellaria or Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander (Early acess), perhaps it can fill the that void.
Unreal 2

The game really doesn't have a very good start. The first level is kind of boring and uninspired. But, I do remember that it gets a whole lot better as the game progresses so I'm planning to stick with it to the end. It's always bugged me that I never finished it :P
Perhaps then I'll give the original another playthrough. It has one of the best fps campaigns I've ever played
"Lands of Lore - Throne of chaos" with the dracoid Ak`shel as character. Still fun to play after all this years.
doom 3 and dirt 2

Glad to hear that. I thought I was the only one since I got bored with the first level and storyline. Yes, the game gets way better. Same goes for the original Unreal, I'll say.

Come to think of it yes, a similar thing does happen with the first Unreal. The only difference for me though is that Unreal 1 starts of really well to begin with and then somehow manages to become even more and more excellent :)

Pretty much it, man ;)
Had a similar thing other FPS games such as Singularity: kinda ok at first but damn, 5 hours later you're begging for more.
I love the series of uncharted so much that I am thinking to give Nathan to my new born baby.
I love Nathan Drake character so much . He is full of adventure and strength. Also Nathan meaning is nice.
I'm playing Jade Empire and Prince of Persia Warrior Within recently.
Far cry 4, Battlefield 4
Metro Last Light Redux
Unreal 2 still. I'm several levels in and bored out of my skull. I'm just not having any fun :P
Halo 5 Guardians

Well I will be just as soon as the 87GB (no joke) download finishes. It's on the free play program for a week and apparently that includes the single player campaign- which doesn't even take a week a week to finish. So I figure why not.

It's times like this I'm so glad that my ISP has a deal with Microsoft...everything Xbox is unmetered- which was especially useful that day I downloaded over 300GB in one afternoon.

Beat Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood yesterday. Not bad, but I was kind of hoping for this franchise to be a bit better. Guess I hyped it up too much in my own mind. Well, I did try a bit of Gunslinger. Gameplay-wise it definitely has the best gun action. It also sports some rather nice presentation. It could easily end up being the best of the three. *shrug*

I had to stop playing shooters for a while though. After playing for some time it just feels like too much of the same. So I played through all of the Castle of Illusion remake. Pretty good stuff, but, man, that game is short. Finished it under two-and-a-half hours with most things collected.

Now I'm onto South Park: The Stick of Truth. Tried to use Biggus Dickus as my character name... I guess the pre-determined 'douchebag' is fitting enough in that regard. Anyway, it's good fun in its crudeness so far.

Unreal 2 is starting to finally get a bit better. Some of the later levels are actually fun. Especially those where you have marines on your side, and get to place plasma walls and turrets to defend a position.
