NoNewTaleToTell: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, probably for the last time for the foreseeable future. I love a lot about this game but I'm tired of humanoid enemies wearing light jackets and ski masks surviving multiple shotgun blasts directly to the face from less than five yards away (no, I'm not exaggerating). I'm also tired of them being able to snipe me from a mile away regardless of how I move whereas the bullets from my weapons seem to drop directly into the dirt at about the ten yard mark (slight exaggeration but not much).
Uhm... which difficulty setting did you choose? In my playthrough (Stalker difficulty), bandits always died with a single shotgun shell, maybe two if I aimed badly the first time. Same goes for every other assailiant until I met the military.
Also, despite their eagle sight, their aim was not that good. If you constantly keep moving when you do not have a clear line of sight, you can easily dodge even sniper bullets!
I admit I had an hard time in the beginning, too, but when I changed my approach to a more calm and defensive one I exterminated entire camps with relative ease. For me, not staying in the open during a firefight was enough.

Both Stalker and Novice difficulty. I just recently went into the tunnels for the first time and out of ten enemies or so, seven of them took at least two direct shotgun blasts to the face, all of them were at MOST five feet away (I waited just behind a corner for them) and I know I didn't miss. I'm not having any strategy problems, I know HOW to play the game haha, I'm just sick of the humanoids being sponges. I'm also having issues with enemies shooting me through solid walls/floors at times. I might look into one of the major mods to see if they'll change that, or turn the difficulty all the way up to master if it'll make it so that both enemies and I are at a completely even level.

Have you tried the Zone Reclamation Project patch? Following the suggestions of a few friends I installed it immediately: maybe it will do the difference! It *should* fix that kind of bugs.
Personally, if the tunnels you are talking about are those under the Agroprom, I solved the problem with pistol headshots and SMGs. Imo, the sawed-off shotgun is too slow to be viable down there.

I haven't tried any of the unofficial patches, yet, so I'm open to recommendations. The tunnels I'm referring to are the ones near the Garbage where you have to collect a stash (for the main quest). I'd give you the exact name of the general area but I've forgotten haha. I didn't have much problem in the tunnels to be fair, even with them surviving direct hits. I AM having a touch of issues heading back to the Garbage now that the military (I think? I'm barely following the story) has retaken the area near the base, due to the aforementioned sponges. In a related issue, I'm having an odd bug whre completed side quests are being counted as failed a few minutes after completing them (IE: find the stash in the office building by the tunnels).

RyanDodd: Ar Norsurge Ode to an Unborn Star, Fallout 1, System Shock 2.

I was also playing a game called 'Project Nimbus' since the devs gave me a key but the game is pretty broke right now so I had to stop playing because it crashes to desktop due to poor programming.
How would you rate or recommend Ar Nosurge? Thinking about buying it, but on thing that's put me off, is that you jump in the middle of the story which started with older Ar games, and I have never played one before :(

All right, I think you definitely need this (ZRP mod).
It leaves the game as it was intended to be, and with all the bug fixes, giving another shot to the game should be *way* more pleasant. You can also add some minor tweaks to adjust the difficulty a bit: checki it out!

Thank you very much, I'll check it out!
Halfway through Bayonetta (Wii U) on Normal Mode. Guess I need more practice since I keep getting golds at the end of chapters. =/

Still loving it though.
I think ill next try to complete the newest thief (have done in the others already) or Killer is dead.
I've managed to fix Saints Row 2's framerate and fastforward issues (disable Dynamic Lighting) so I'm finally able to sit back and enjoy this fantastic game. I just did the red light districts' Septic Avenger missions so I should have enough respect built up to let me go pretty far into the storyline (or at least INTO the storyline haha).
Since October 24, I've been playing Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth pretty exclusively and averaging about 12 hours a day on it. (Being disabled and so not working for a living can be both a blessing and a curse!)

But I stumbled across GOG just 19 hours ago and I suspect my gaming horizons will be broadening shortly as I pick up some classic Sid Meier's games that I used to own (like Alpha Centauri) and ones I never did (such as his flight simulators).

Welcome!
More Saints Row 2. I'm starting to understand why a lot of people think it's better than Saints Row: The Third and while I don't quite share that opinion I can definitely see its merits. I've been having a ton of fun with it today and so far my only real complaint is that there are too many vehicle combat missions (at least when taking on the Brotherhood) for my taste.
Lots of PS3. Why? Anything to keep me distracted from these GOG sales. Christmas is just around the corner. Have to resist the urge to empty my wallet on even more games for myself. After Skyrim and New Vegas I might just break out the caulking gun and re-tile the kitchen. Anything to keep me away from that fall sale.
Switching between Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Split Second and Cossacks European Wars.
