deathwings51: IIRC the second KOTOR was made by Obsidian.
Ah, good point.
What KOTOR2 had for me was much better interaction with companions due to the influence concept. And character development was better too.

Enebias: I liked Risen 2 and 3!
(Can't remember if I said that already, though)
In comparison to the first Risen? I liked the first one. But the ending was pretty meh. A big boss hack-n-slash fight. Haven't played the others.

Multiplayer is crap, always crap, because on-line people mostly behave like bags full of shit. Me included.

I won't waste my precious leisure time by sweating for some "fake points" bullshit or the likes, so I will play single player games forever. You can shove your "game-as-a-service" bullshit up your stinky ass, publishers.

*Have I been graphic and unpopular enough?

I think most of the users on GOG holds this opinion tbh.

Dunno, there are a lot of chaps here that seem to enjoy crap like Galaxy or cloud saves. Things that make me literally puke, so....
Not sure if this is unpopular or not: Popular opinion (and manufactured opinion from the game review industry) if often the opposite of what I find to be true of games. More to the point:

Major game reviewers tend to suck.
Popular games tend to suck (influenced by the above).

Another one: Most games suck badly in one or more aspects. I often find that a game might have a good story, but the gamplay sucks. Or the gameplay is good, but the story sucks. Or the first part of a game is good, but the last part is bad. All sorts of variables here, but in general, suckage is much more common than not.

Cloud saves are convenient when you're playing one same game on different machines (for instance your desktop and your laptop when you're on the move). It's not a pro that balances all the cons of using a client, but it's still a pro. And possibly the only one.

So your friends also behave like bags full of shit if you were to play with them online?

dtgreene: Basically, if action and RPG elements are combined into a single game, it is the action part that I consider to be dominant, and as a result I classify such games as action games rather than RPGs.

Also, RPGs still allow room for strategy; a player who understands the game mechanics well can often manage to complete challenges that less experienced players would likely think impossible. This is especially true for games with more strategic depth (Final Fantasy 5 being a good example here).
So...
Action+RPG=Action
Strategy+RPG=RPG
That's fine, it's your opinion.

For me:
Story+RPG=Adventure=The only interesting RPG games.

The first is better in all ways. Minus the ending, of course. XD
Admittedly, Risen 2 and 3 are not very good, though I still enjoyed them.
If you like Piranha Bytes games, definitely go for Elex if you have to choose a post-Gothic 2 one.
I think the game industry is doing better then ever. For every game that comes out that I don't care for it feels like 10 come out that I do. No Genre is oversaturated and most AAA studios put out good games on a regular basis.

I think if anything is going well in the game industry right now, it is something of a collapse of the hype wall. Maybe that will get the focus back on making good games rather than focusing on high profits.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with on-disc DLC and ''cut content''. If it affects the quality of the base game negatively, that will be reflected in the review scores. I don't think players are entitled to that content just because it was made in the same development cycle as the base game.
Here's another: All versions of games should be preserved.

It bothers me that, for example, there's currently no legal way to get Skyrim 1.2 (for educational purposes, of course), and I don't know if that particular version of the game can even be found through illegal channels (I haven't looked).

(The notable think about this particular version of Skyrim is that it was extremely buggy, with bugs like elemental resistance not working and dragons flying backwards; it's also notable in that this version, I believe, is the reason that Steam has the beta channel in the first place, so that not everyone would be forced to apply a patch that contains serious regressions.)

(Also, this sort of thing can also be important for speedrunners, who often prefer to run a buggier version of a game because it contains tricks and skips that were patched out of later versions.)
Not a fan of Mario 64's level design and find the controls kinda dated.

Also not a fan of rogue-lites like Spelunky or Rogue Legacy. Difficulty is too random and I prefer being able to practice something I failed at until I can do it.

NES aesthetics aren't the peak of retro aesthetics.

And now for some underrated games:
Langrisser II
Panorama Cotton
Rocket Knight Adventures
Landstalker
Shining Force 2-3
Thunder Force IV
Lunar: Eternal Blue
Ristar: The Shooting Star
Quackshot
Super Fantasy Zone & 2 DX
Front Mission: Gun Hazard
Maze of Galious
Yu Yu Hakusho: Makyou Toitsusen
Alien Soldier
Phantom 2040
Strife
Gargoyle's Quest 1-2
Solomon's Key
Metal Storm
Twinkle Tale
Battle Mania Daiginjou
Alisia Dragoon
Monster World IV
Ranger X
DuckTales 2
Seirei Senshi Spriggan
Guardian Legend
Final Fantasy Adventure
Crystalis
Bionic Commando (GB)
Power Strike 2 (GG) & Power Strike 2 (SMS)
Adventures of Lolo 1-3
Dragon View
Exhumed

Intrinsically wrong? Depends on what you think about DRM. If it's on the disc but not enabled, you usually need some online service to activate it for you. Buy disc and online service is gone -> DLC gone.
