I'm kind of a fan, recently got Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and I'm in the mood for more. What rhythm games would you recommend?

I've enjoyed more the ones with real songs and notes flying through the screen. Like the previously mentioned Dancing All Night, Guitar Hero, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Elite Beat Agents and its japanese music counterpart Ouendan.

Not so much the more abstract ones, about rhythm but not so much songs, like Rhythm Heaven and Crypt of the Necrodancer. But by all means that shouldn't stop you recommending such games, even if I personally might not take up on the offer it should help someone else.
Depends on the platform you're working with.

For DS, I really enjoyed Rhythm Heaven and I hear Elite Beat Agents is pretty good.

Whoop, my eye completely skipped over this part. That's what I get for posting while just reading the title.
Uh....Audiosurf, perhaps?

I have mostly everything, so platform doesn't matter. I did wonder if I hadn't listed pretty much all the rhythm games already. I haven't played the Hatsune Miku games, so there's at least one.

Audiosurf was alright, but missed that extra touch you lose with computer generated levels.

In a way, you kinda have.
Most of them, in my experience, are just different games in one series (i.e. Rock Band, Rock Band 3, The Beatles: Rock Band, etc.).
It also seems like a lot of the famous ones were for Playstation, if that helps any.
Nevermind, I was going to suggest Lumines but that's just because I can't read. That's not the kind of game you're looking for at all, is it? >.>

Maybe not what he was looking for, but I must admit, I'm rather intrigued at the premise of it.

Not quite what I meant, but hey, Lumines is indeed a good game. Have you ever tried Chime? It's on PC and it feels very reminiscent of that one.

Hm, no, never heard of it. Thanks for the tip; looks like at least a couple hours of fun.

If you like those, then be sure to check out Osu if you haven't already done so. It's free!

Rhythm Game
Metronomicon looks really good... been watching videos and the songs are great. There are even difficulty option, which make the game terrifyingly hard.
Still... it's just a suggestion.
I would recommend any of the Taiko no Tatsujin games if you have a PS Vita or a JP/unlocked Nintendo console. I have been playing V Version almost exclusively for the past year and it quickly became my favourite rhythm game.

It has simple controls and lacks any annoying gimmicks, for example the rotating gamefield view and shifting note paths in IA/VT Colourful. The best aspect is the excellent audio/visual feedback which I have found to be among the very best of all console rhythm games that I have tried. I often find games like Project Diva and Theatrhythm to feel "floaty" and be hard to distinguish which notes you fail during very rapid sequences.

For the PS Vita version you will however need a JP PSN account in order to access any additional song packs. Please be aware that the game should work on all PS Vita devices since it is region free, but it is not compatible for PS TV even though it does not utilise the touchscreens, which is a shame.

Oh dear lord. What is that, the training video Ruby Rhod watches?

Holy crap it's almost 20 years since that movie came out? Thanks, time. I wanted to feel extra old this morning.

Those are pretty cool. I used to play those on the arcade, and had a friend who bought the Wii version with drum controller.

Import taxes are pretty high though, I tend to stick with digital games. I'll try to look at what's available. I did use to play Guitar Hero on a gamepad because I was too cheap to buy the guitar controller, so I shouldn't have problems just using the Wii remote, if it comes to that.
