Kuzi110: [...] And the only one having it doesn't know he has it.
For me that's not caring by the owner and therefor abandonment [...]

BreOl72: ...surely sounded like that (to me).
Sorry, thats a misunderstanding. Abandoning something for me just means they don't care. It doesn't imply any right for others to sell it. Just the opposite, I see as a difficulty to get these games (and the rights to them) to sell them, because there is noone who claims them and therefor noone to talk about the rights or buy them.

AB2012: AoE tip
Note taken, Thanks a lot AB2012!
Opinion :

It seems the most older popular games have witnessed releases on this platform.

Many people all over the world have fond memories of playing classic games with their families and friends. The nostalgic value, thrilling game play, and often straightforward rules of these classic games make them appealing to players of all ages. Checkers, chess, Go Fish, Monopoly, and Scrabble are just a few of the classic games that can be played for entertainment or to pass the time. They are also a wonderful way to strengthen relationships with loved ones, as they usually involve several people playing together. The traditional games are an integral part of our history and culture, and they will never be forgotten.
ChatGPT, is that you ?... ^^^
I'd say Alexa, he's definitly trying to sell me something. If not now, then in a few days.

Kuzi110: Ok, I might have to be more specific. The only one game of those I was interested in (and pruchased) was Psychonauts. The rest is too old for my taste (yeah, I know how it sounds. Not old enough, too old).

I'm more interested in games between, let's say, the later 90s (1996-) til the mid- or late-2000 (2010 maybe).

The games I kind of grew up with (first game being Settlers 2 from 1996). And I don't see many of those coming. :(

edit: Just to name a few of these games so you know what I mean:

Age of Empires
Max Payne
Hitman
Black & White
Total War Series
Tomb Raider
Splinter Cell
Zoo Tycoon

I know that with some of them there is the problems with the rights to them... But that list ist in no way complete and just there to give you a hint what classics are for me (subjectiv, personally).
All of these? Brah, Instant my wallet to GOG's wallet if they did it.

I know there are "remasters" and crap now. But for the love of GOG, give me the original, that's where my memories are.

Age of Empires is Microsotf, so you will never get that here.
Some games get caught in "Legal Rights Hell"...no one can easily establish who exactly owns the rights to the game, and no one wants to pay the sizable legal fees it would take to establish the rights. The 'No One Lives Forever" sereis is and exmaple of this.
