I'm in for Planet of Lana

A puzzle platformer is exactly my cup of tea. As companion I would take a 'liquid' cat with me. A cat, that can flatten itself to squeeze under doors and such to help solve puzzles. (cats are amazing in what they can fit through and this companion cat would have that ability enhanced)
It's definitely harder to hold giveaways on GOG now, since they enforce a "can only buy a gift game once every 24h policy".

I understand this is probably a system that deters resellers, but what if I have 3 friends that want the game? :/

Sigh... guess I'll have to pace my "shopping" spree. The timelines should be fine, so hoping I'll have all the needed copies next weekend.
I'm pretty sure the devs said they were "working on" Galaxy Achievements months ago, yet currently today on August 7 2023, I still don't see Galaxy Achievements listed on the GOG store page.

Did they ever add them? Or did they abandon that promise?

No clue to be honest since I'm not a Galaxy user. The game has its own achievement hunting system (you have to find 10 hidden altar stones to reveal a pictogram of the story behind the game), but that might not be enough for some.
Does human count as animal?

What if you put cat ears on it?

Oh behave! :P No, it doesn't count. You have to pick an actual animal. And before you ask, no shapeshifting druids are allowed either.

My companion animal of choice? Definitely a honey badger - a spirit animal for life! When they are minding their own business is a great day for everyone involved, but actually having one in the same team for a change would be just infinitely more awesome.

Planet of Lana looks great, it really has that color palette and general vibe of Ghibli movies. I'm really looking forward to the western release of Miyazaki's latest movie. I don't want to call it the last movie, because one never knows and there could be another surprise, in some form at least. Btw cheers for organizing such giveaway.
Bumpty bump bump. Also, as a status update: "funding secured" for at least two copies :P. Gotta wait for another 24h gift spell colldown timer now, lol.
I'd like to enter as well, if I can. I loved the looks of this game at first sight, they somehow look both familiar and alien at the same time. I so wish I could explore somewhere never seen, building a home where the established society cannot reach...

Anyway.
I already have an animal companion! A two-and-a-half years old Australian Shepherd dog.
He's also extremely intelligent, probably even too much for his own good considering the kind of smart tricks he plays on everyone, mostly to steal food in such elaborate ways when he succeeds you don't even feel angry he broke the rules, you're just in awe of his resourcefulness, lol.
A loveable, relentless jerk.
He lacks the spoken word, but honestly? He can express himself perfectly even without it. It's clear he understands and knows how to be understood.

If I had to choose one more, I'd love to team up with a hawk or a raven. Beautiful animals, smart and with a personality!
Ttey'd scout the sky while we stay on land.

I used to have a fighting rooster, so I'd definitely having them as my companion.

One with a great singing voice. Can definitely fight and curiously aware of its surrounding. Also as bonus a rooster also functioned as my own alarm every morning.
I am in.

I think i want a crow near my side. Old and wise. You can double jump with that crow but after that it needs eat a lot. Hahhaa its cool mechanic i think.

Good luck for all
I am in as well!

I would like to have a red panda as my companion. They seem like curious fellows who could be persuaded to go on an adventure. They're versatile since they can walk on two or four legs, and their ability to climb trees makes them good scouts. They're not very bold explorers though, since they can be even startled by a rock. But on the other hand they are cute enough that most enemies would probably give up and pet it instead of fighting us.
Hello WinterSnowfall!

Thank you for the generosity of this giveaway!

I do have "Planet of Lana" on my (offline) wishlist, because it reminds me of cinematic puzzle platformers such as "Another World / Out of This World", "A Boy and His Blob" (both the original NES and the newer Remake version), but also of games like "Ico" (on PS2), and I adore the lush art style.

Hence, yes, I am in for a copy of "Planet of Lana".

Regarding the animal companion, it is an easy question for me. Although, the versatility of a transforming blob can be of advantage depending on the specific circumstance and situational need, my preferred companion would be a mice or squirrel - like one of the three main protagonists of the original "Wild Arms" on Playstation 1 had.

A mice or a squirrel is a very agile creature that can easily access areas or openings where I do not reach or do not fit into. Furthermore, they are relatively small and light weight and conveniently fit into a pocket without burdening me when they need to be carried. And at least from mices we know that they can be taught or trained well.
(A squirrel would have the additional advantage of being cute and able to jump further.)

Good luck to everyone!

Kind regards,
foxgog
Of course I am in for Planet of Lana.

This is a beautiful game, and anything that looks this much Ghibli-like is bound to attract me.

My companion on an adventure like this would be a cat, because they are cute, confident, and independent. Someone similar to Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service. And if allowed he/she might have some magical powers, such as changing their colours to blend in with the background allowing them to move in a way that overcomes the geometrical and physical limitations.
Not in. Don't think my W7 rig could handle this W10 game. :( Nonetheless... such a wonderful game you're gifting the community! :) +1 for your generosity, WinterSnowfall!

How cool it would be to play a video game where my companion animal is the lyrebird! I can see this bird being a great game mechanic, especially useful for stealth situations. I'd train the bird to immitate certain sounds and then use this companion to my advantage to confuse the enemy or trick them with false sounds. Many possibilities! ;)
