tinyE: A few mentions of all sports games.

Anyone here besides me like them?
On a snow day I'd often find myself playing Madden on my PlayStation 2

Anything subscription based I won't touch.

Oh, I forgot to mention those. I don't play any sports or manager games. The last sports games that I played were Decathlon and Summer Games on the C64.
This is a kinda obvious answer coming from me, but... anything with DRM minus the very few unplayed games I still have on Steam from times past.

pkk234: Any FIFA and Madden games. Cause they're so boring. Why people keep buying them every damn year is beyond me, even if they like the sports.
If you truly love the sport, having stuff like updated rosters and rules is a big deal. Admittedly, you can usually download mods that will do that on older editions (hell, people are still modding Tecmo Bowl on the NES) but most people are just lazy *shrug*
All personal preference of course but some that just don't interest me:

• JRPG or anime related, including all those odd dating sims. Just don't like the art style and characters and the gameplay. And the music. Nothing really.
• Sports games too for me although I've had some fun with racing games I got for free
• Bethesda-type open world games, just feel to generic and boring.
• Silent Hill (I tried part 2 actually, but that camera just kept annoying me to no end. Shame really, atmosphere and story I liked)
• Anything FNAF and similar, dunno, pointless I think
• Hidden object games (maybe if they have some more in depth adventure elements)
• Anything relying heavily on Microtransactions or P2W stuff, but I don't really play MP anyway so its not much of an issue (yet).
• Diablo 3. Dunno, I liked 1 a lot and thought 2 was fine as well but somewhere in between 2 and 3s release I got into "real" RPGs and the hack and slash type of games are just not exciting anymore. Also don't like the new art style.
• Any MMORPG, never tried any to be fair, they just seem like a giant waste of time.

hmcpretender: Half Life 2.
Reason: requires Steam.
depending on your bias re. Steam - it is actually DRM free there, and does not require Steam to run. You only need Steam to buy and dowloand, and you can then delete it afterwards.

LootHunter: Wow, so many people here dislike multiplayer...
I used to like multi-player FPS's during the 90's "LAN Party" era. But that was back when it meant relaxing with a few friends you knew in person for a good laugh, not endless trolls, cheaters, squeakers, etc, online taking themselves and their online "status" way too seriously. Nor the chronic grind-fests some modern games have turned into (presumably as some incentive to purchase "pay2degrind" micro-transactions that same games also tend to come stuffed with). Nor the upcoming skewed match-making crap that "shapes" players towards purchasing even more "pay2upgrade" micro-transactions via deliberate mis-matches. I find this absurd rat-race into making competitive AAA PC games end up more like the junk half of the Google Play store is a complete turn-off now.

andysheets1975: A lot of popular RTSs
There are popular RTSs? In 2018?

@Topic:
I'll never buy a console, so anything console-only. Also anything that requires EA Origin or UPlay, or rather, anything "recent" (the last 10-15 years) made by EA or Ubisoft. Anything with DRM other than Steam (including Steam games with third-party DRM). Any MMORPG and probably most JRPGs (I have played some Pokemon games on my phone o_O); most, if not all, sports and racing games. Diablo 3. Probably any GTA. Minecraft.

I find darkly ironic to know that the game that started this whole client nightmare and made the entire industry bend the knee to one single giant is now DRM-free.

Good to know. Maybe I'll get it at some point then.
Most of them.

I'd play soccer or ice hockey games or something as couch co-op, but probably not alone, at least not for long. I'm just not mad about them, they kind of bore me. Then again, I don't like to watch sports on TV either. I'd still rather do sports myself, and I say that as a lazy bum. ;)

I make an exception for goofy games like Stikbold! or funny cart racers, but those can't really be called "sports" games, I think.

At least half of the games in my library.

I think I can safely say for me that's at least 80% of them. :/

(If "play" means "play through", that is, or more than "try out" for a few minutes or hours, in any case.)
