Aha, time to get some DLCs for Field of Glory II.

Upon hitting the store page of EUIII CE, the first thing that shows in the reviews is precisely that it is not entirely "complete", and that is missing 2 DLCs from being the whole package (I take that Chronicles is the actualy complete edition). Leaving aside the matter that it screams false advertising…

How much does one miss from those 2 dlcs? Are they relevant enough to warrant the wait for a truly complete package or to be purchased separately thorugh the upgrade?

Calling some of these ''grand strategy'' is really a stretch. AoW are wargames with light 4X elements. Field of Glory 2 looks like a 100% pure wargame with no overworld, just scenarios. Ditto for Panzer Corps.

Agreed.

Wargames are only focused on war. Like Panzer Corps.

Grand Strategy games have both war and politics in them. Like Europa Universalis.

4X games have war, politics, economy and a depth which includes scale and a more varied setup. Not to mention victories based on other things than war or politics. Like Distant Worlds Universe.

Then there's the borderline ones. I'd argue that Stellaris is more of a Grand Strategy game, but set in space.
Age of Wonders seems to have changed direction from tactical turn-based strategy to 4X in the latest game(s) too.

Genre's can be hard sometimes, especially today. But not these ones.
Then again, If they'd just call the sale "deep strategy games" I'd be fine with it.
