Golden Boy also has the greatest scene of any anime of all time.

I'm not really a huge anime fan but I recommend Aria, which is both a Manga and a Anime, which is highly recommend.

Another series I always liked was Serial Experiment Lain, just because of the atmosphere. People who use Linux distros will probably hate it though.

Higurashi no naku koro ni is another Anime I recommend. The Visual Novels chapters 1 - 6 are also available on gog for those interested.

Tbh, super short series seem to do MUCH better than the typical 24 or 51 ep series. 6 to 12 is great but I do sometimes ask myself maybe just maybe that 6 ep series could have put out much more if it was at 12 or 11.

I generally agree with this but it is always better to judge on a per-case-basis. For example Dead Man Wonderland was an atrocious 12ep anime (manga is the way to go with this one), but Black Blood Brothers is one of the good 12s.

EDIT: Actually if you like Nichijou i think Plastic Nee-san would be perfect for you. Unfortunately the anime itself is quite short. So short in fact you can watch all 40mins of it on youtube. The manga has dozens of small chapters tho.

hmm, you prove a point, very true. I can say Plastic memories is one that felt like it should have went on more but 13 eps was an odd number to stop at.

Sure, the anime is funny. But for me, there's only a few episodes in the anime where the comedies are really top notch, while the rest are simply trying too hard to make the audience laugh. But then again, everyone has their own sense of humor.

For me, it's funny and depressing at the same time.

I am hesitant to post here 'coz I'm quite out of the loop.. I know only series everyone else knows (and not even most of that).

Recently I've been thinking about seeing Cowboy Bebop again. In part because I'm curious about whether it's good or not. Honestly it's been so long since I saw it that I just don't remember much at all about it. I do have a feeling I liked it back then though.
