I suppose anything goes if it's good (as long as it's not.. disgusting).

Recently I finally watch Fate/Stay Night from 2006, better late than never.

I'm not going to lie it's really impressive, after +10 years it still looks gorgeous. Some scenes are top notch and the lighting effects are better than in some recent shows.

At first I wasn't totally sure if I like it or not because the main character is a bit of a pain in the butt. Just like a lot of main protagonist in this kind of series he refuse to fight, he's always over protective and wants to be friend with everyone... meh !

But honestly the story is pretty good, there is always a new plot twist coming from nowhere that change everything and spiced up things. The vilains are pretty original and they all have really unique powers that I like, the series is old but at the same time feels pretty fresh in term of ideas.

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece or a must watch like most people on the internet but it's very good and I recommend it :)

for sure, Gotcha! I believe I have a few that are like that and i'm gonna look up my collection at home cause I know for a fact I got some stuff that shares similarities to those anime.
