Wow, TW2 is FLOODED again.
Oh, good grief: 'skjgowegh' again. I'd assumed the wave of name12345Name accounts was a sign the earlier ones had been disabled.
Btw the second bookmarklet works both in FF and Chrome, for those who want to help reporting:

javascript:(function(){$('.r_t_p_no_EN').show().click();$('#markSpam_1').click();})()
Wow, skjgowegh is enraged. 10 new threads a minute.

Fortunately, thanks to toxicTom's script, I can mark 20 threads a minute. :P
Flagged a bunch at witcher 2 forum, but that's that. I'm not doing it again.

227: I don't see the point of this recent spamming. They can't post links, and even if they thought they could, the spaces in the URLs ensure that they'd get no backlink juice, meaning there's no SEO benefit (pro or con, as people sometimes pay spammers to spam competitor links in order to get them penalized by search engines for spamming). Even if they're playing the numbers game and banking on one in a thousand people being curious enough to visit the spammed sites, posting in subforums is a great way to expose a ton of spam links to virtually no one. I just don't get it. The whole endeavor seems like a waste of time for everyone involved.
I don't get this either, I did a Google search of the site they seem to be promoting, but all the results were just spam in comments and forum posts from loads of various websites... I'm presuming there's some kind of virus / scam behind it that they're hoping to spread or benefit from, but who knows?

I'm out too. GOG had way more than enough time to fix this. It's not the weekend or close of business hours, and a temporary solution (block non-latin characters in thread titles, limit number of new threads for new users, registration captcha) should take 20-30 mins at most. I spent more time flagging this crap. Gog should get their act together.

Agreed, which is why I'm not doing anything right now until I get word back from them... although if they already replied to me I don't know, I'm on the wrong computer to access my email. Guess I should check that...

Adding Captcha for new accounts will be a must, which is a one time thing so it won't be as annoying for real users. Of course if they make new users in bulk over a few days and then start the attacks again....

edit: seems I got a reply...

Hello, thank you for reporting this. We are aware of the issue and are currently working on ways to fix it. I apologise for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Natalia

Although I'll guess (reading between the lines) from that response they aren't going to bestow special status to non-employees... which is okay as long as they fix this.

Natalya?

I was wondering what she did. She is the only speaking NPC in the history of that series that has absolutely nothing to offer the player. :P First time I saw her I thought I was missing a patch or something.

tinyE: ...
Although she's an assassin, i think she was probably suppose to be a larger part of the NPC base but they didn't need her, yet she remained as a relic. How did they plan on expanding the game? Perhaps she was suppose to supply some missions? Not sure. They could have done so much more if they hadn't limited it to 6 missions per area. I bet she was made before they fixed the number of missions, and might have planned something more like D1's where you could talk to anyone and get plenty of interesting responses. But we'll never know...

Although some mods make use of her, but she never moves... Reminds me of Camels moved in some mods, where they are electric enchanted and annoying as hell.
I've got a message from Firek stating they are aware of the problem and they're trying to come up with a working long term solution.
This one's in English. :-(

Account name: pakerpaul
Edit: removed link since it has words the spammer surely wants Google to pick up.

I'm out as well. Given access to their database, I could have fixed this six ways by now, so I really think it's time they stepped up to the plate themselves and did something about it.
I've just marked my n-th spam thread today.

We should get something from GOG in return. I mean, a copy of Akalabeth for free or something like that.
