The spam is also hitting the Witcher 2 and Fallout subforums.

They should make it so that mass spam flaggings results in an immediate ban for any new member using ".com,' ".org,"
".net," and so on in their first 100 or so posts. Wonder if that'd be possible, because that way it wouldn't be able to be abused for petty reasons while still allowing the community the ability to moderate crap like this.
I've just gone through the Witcher 2 forum, but not enough others have, so the spam is still there. Going to look at the Fallout forum now.
There's also one spam thread left in Générales.
It's so beautiful...

3 simple rules in the fourms would remove most of this... unless they made it more random

1) Identical topics can't be posted within 5 minutes of eachother.
2) perfectly identical posts from the same person as post #1 on same forum/subforum
3) Multiple lines (5+) all being identical

These would remove/reduce a large number of lazily programmed bots. It wouldn't remove it completely though, but would make it more manageable.

Maybe a button to automatically mark an entirely new topic as spam without having to enter the actual topic, when it's very obvious...

Do you wanna live forever?
We just need community janitors. I nominate Wishbone.
Is there a faster way to mark threads as spam than entering them, downvoting, then clicking "mark as spam"? Some way of mass-flagging pages full of spam akin to selecting groups of emails to delete en masse would be helpful since it's coming faster than I can report it at this point.

Haha, hell no ;-)

I just thought I'd do a bit of cleaning before I left for work. I'm not interested in an additional full-time position. I'm quite busy enough as it is, thank you :-)

Yes, that would be a nice option to have.

Edit: Finally, the Witcher 2 forum is clean again. It probably won't last though.

I'd do it... however i'd want a few direct SQL tools for moderation.
Gah. Marking 50+ spam posts is a pain! I hope they find some sane defaults to help alleviate this a bit.

As for a community janitor, we might actually need one.

First Baldur's Gate, now Neverwinter! :(
