antrad88: I have been using an Internet ad blocker for probably 9 or 10 years now. For the last few weeks I have been using my old computer with Windows XP where I couldn't install an ad blocker, because the Firefox version for XP is out-dated.
I was completely overwhelmed and shocked with the current state on YouTube:
- first there is and ad at top-right of the screen
- then you often get a one minute ad before the video even starts
- then during the video you often get an ad banner
- but that is not enough, often the video just stops to display and ad, just like on TV
- then after it finishes there is another ad
Most of the videos can be skipped after 5 seconds, and the banners don't block much.
Also there are blockers thankfully or using the site which leeches vids off of youtube, but I use it sometimes to watch ads to give a few pennies to my favorite YTers.

Darvond: I'm one of the less sympathetic types. If you're using Windows XP in
this day and age, that's entirely a
YOU problem.
I dunno if you're one of the many who've been told logical and sensible solutions; (Buy an off lease computer from an office, Linux, work for CroTeam) but you've got absolutely no reason to be using Windows XP at this point,
especially for a network computer.
This is one of the things I hate about online forums......if you don't sympathize with the OPs you get treated like dogsh*te for merely being critical of OP's post.
