I wonder if anyone has managed to level up a character to Supreme Jerk in WL2 yet (without cheating). That's a lot of grinding...

Pretty excited for this, I haven't started the game yet so it's a whole new experience for me.

JudasIscariot: My custom-made character's build was all over the place with trying to be a sniper/smooth talker/brainiac/mechanic instead of focusing on one thing and letting the party members cover my character's weak spots :D
I like custom multi-skilled characters in RPGs, but unfortunately they end up weak if the game doesn't provide some kind of bonus for them.

Not really, skills in WL2 are 1-10, so even characters with like 3 Intelligence can safely do 2-3 skills. What are nonviable are characters that try to do too many skills, like 10, because the XP requirements for leveling up get exponentially larger (like to a huge degree) and you only get skill points when you level up.

You need to have nearly maxed out your skills before you get to California.

JudasIscariot: I, for one, am glad we have a reason to start anew :D My custom-made character's build was all over the place with trying to be a sniper/smooth talker/brainiac/mechanic instead of focusing on one thing and letting the party members cover my character's weak spots :D
Yea, but I'm already in California, and had good progress there. But put my play through on hold because of The Witcher 3. I'm just glad that I haven't played Divinity OS yet, then I would have to re-play two games, not one.
I've just started Wastelands 2 a few days ago, and am barely at the point where i'll unlock access to Citadel. I assume it's not far. Still, i'm annoyed at the thought of restarting from zero.

But, if the update means a better optimisation of the engine, it's good news. The noise that comes out of my computer when i play this specific game is a real nuisance.
"The PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the Director’s Cut will all be available for you to download and play on October 13th, no matter where you live in the world. If you have the game on Steam or GOG, it will be automatically unlocked for you to enjoy on that date."

On a sort of simular note, it would be awesome if gog ever got the HD version of Fahrenheit and the owners of the original get upgraded to that one.
